  • was one off the last games/demo i can remember playing on the c64..simply amazin

  • Does the author of this beutiful demo ever talk about the whole game that was in his mind.... that would be a epic interview i would love to see.

Does anybody knows something about it?

  • =O excellent sound!! I lost much time viewing this demo in the '80s!, I love it!! My c64 will live forever in my heart! ^_^ good video! congratulations! and thank you for upload it!

=O Excelente sonido!! Perdi mucho tiempo viendo esta demo en los '80s! La amo!!, Mi c64 vivira por siempre en mi corazon! ^_^ buen video! Felicitaciones! y gracias por subirlo!

  • Looks very impressive even now. Imagine if they'd finished making the game...

  • I remember this! It is possible to descend into the volcanic crater and come up again... but you can't land in there. The ship floats around and will crash against the side if you aren't careful. What a fun memory! Sachs is a terrific artist who really understood the C64. Right up there with Danielle Bunten in my opinion.

  • @nicole360meadows I did not know that you could go in the crater! I'll have to find that floppy and try it some day. :) Yes, Sachs is probably one of the best and unknown computer graphic artists in the past 30 years. I have some of his early work uploaded on my youtube homepage, the Lincoln Memorial at day and night and others. I'll have to check out Danielle Bunten. BTW, I'm "whoring" off your favorites list. Good stuff. :)

  • @jci10 Thanks & who did the music for the C64 olde pics part 1? I like music with that old 80's synth sound. :)

  • @nicole360meadows That's a remix from a well-known "unknown" old Amiga game called Apidya. The music is from stage one.

  • looks like a modern indie game, frankly!

  • very glad i found it again, haven't seen it since 20+ years and i could not remember the name of it!

  • I had heard of this but never saw it.Thanks for posting it!!

  • I loved this demo on the c64. Amazing graphics at the time. Sachs would eventually work on the Cinemaware game ' Defender Of The Crown' on the Amiga and go on to develop a realistic marine tank screensaver for the PC. His graphics were always stunning.

  • Dude, you should register your Hypercam already.

  • I remember that thing... actually, I always suspected that it was only a demo, since the only thing I succeded in was landing the ship... TOO BAD! the graphics were amazing and the sfx were awesome... take a look at that waterfall!!!
