After Hurricane Ivan came through and knocked the power out, we found it was much easier to skywatch at night because of the abscence of light pollution. At dusk, my girlfriend and I would sit out in her yard and watch the satellites come over. One evening, we spotted a fast moving, gold colored flashing object. Looking through the binoculars, I could see that it was a piece of crumpled up copper sheet metal spinning around very fast reflecting the setting sun. Space junk eveywhere up there!

The MIR Space station is just the best thing humans have done in a long time and we know it is designed to take small hits, but hey, space debris does not pulsate like that. That also sounds like Russian for..."What the fuck is going on out there....do yo see this?" More unexplained Luminosities I guess. Exactly. People say it's ice floating but it pulsates at regular intervals and not to mention that it moves up and down and left and right. Judging by the brightness of the lights for exposure and the output brightness of the "whatever is moving" and it not interfering with the exposure of the stars it passes by the upper left I would almost venture to say these things were added to the exposure. Or they could be debris being ejected by the Space Shuttle...could be almost anything. UFO's they are...because they surly are unidentified to us. I'm not a big believer in "flying saucers"...or "alien spacecraft".
