He was let off the hook because Lauren Wilson was uncredidible but that was just one case and now another one is pending. I am unsure of the outcome but I surely hope justice is served. A San Antonio, TX cop responding to a pizza mrgs complaint of me causing a disturbance over a pizza, bullied me, repeatedly told me to "shut up", threatened me w/arreast several times and wouldn't let me make a statement. Suspension of the officers isn't good enough. Had this video not been shown, the student would have been charged with assaulting a police officer, a felony. The motorcyclist had his hands in PLAIN SIGHT and was backing away in fear. There was NO IMMINENT danger to the trooper. The unmarked trooper could clearly see the marked trooper behind the motorcycle, so there was no fear of escape. This type of legal action against a citizen who may have a civil case is a typical defense move. They raise the ante w/ criminal charges to negate the citizen's civil case. Strike harder & faster is their motto.

The motorcycle driver was only issued a citation for speeding to which he later paid. It wasn't like the cop beat him. Had not posted a video of his own reckless behavior on you tube, the trooper would not have known that he was even recorded. Like I said, I don't think the driver belongs in jail, but I don't feel sorry for his predicament.

From the things I have been seeing, a number of Maryland Police are completely out of control. At least 2 who beat a man after he was on the ground posing no threat need to be fired and locked up. One in a plain car and clothes who pulled a gun on a motorcycle rider needs to be fired. Absolutely abhorrent behavior by those sworn to protect law and order. What B.S. I am retired law enforcement officer and state certified L. E. trainer.

He explained that he pulled his weapon only after the driver of the motorcycle put his bike in reverse which caused him to fear for his own safety. Suspension of the officers isn't good enough. Had this video not been shown, the student would have been charged with assaulting a police officer, a felony. His life would have been ruined because these assholes chose to lie to cover their bully boy tactics. They give all law enforcement officers a bad name. Their punishment should be immediate dismissal from the force, followed by criminal charges of felony assault and battery. Perhaps a video will show up to exonerate them.

A bullet in the head of each aggressive police officer would have been appropriate in defending oneself against unjustifiable bodily harm.
Ex post punishments and legal remedies should not be considered the "solution" to these problems, nor should it be viewed as a sufficient deterrent.
The Right to defend ones body from unjustifiable harm must always stand, without question. Nobody should have to be brutalized, with their only moral recourse being ex post. Stop harm BEFORE it occurs.
