@rehmsmeyer What I mean is that We have NO idea which one is Fake, which one is real.....Or what you are trying to do? Thats why I said the camers man should be Shot.....
Fake is that fake. If you think that a fake ROLEX watch comes close to quality and looks you are mistaking. The real big problem with a fake watch is once you buy one from one of these slime balls, you may not even get what you order. These are the same guys who have nothing bettter to do with there days and I would even bet they sell the knock of purses as well. when you buy a real ROLEX you get several things you get many years of research and a resale value that is un-matched.
i bought a fake submariner, in front of tiffanys in nyc no less! i compared it to my real sub and the fake is absolute crap, don't get water on it. when my real sub went for adjustment or repair (once for SIX months! thats ridiculous for such an expensive watch, one with rolexs' reputation!) i'd wear my fake for giggles... it still kept time if you don't mind it losing minutes ea month.
who gives a shit real or fake. would you screw a dumb sexy blond or a smart sexy blond..goddam rolex only worth bout 500-700 the rest is name you're paying for..suckers are born every second..shit!! anyone want to buy a timex??
i think paying a lot of money for a watch is a testament to the sheer stupidity of humanity....personally I'd rather have 600 dollars in my pocket than an expensive device on my wrist that only tells me the date and time....what next? expensive alarm clocks? "Hey baby, wanna come to my place and see my alarm clock? It's a Rolex." People that judge you by the watch you wear aren't worth impressing.
@Piratearrrr True. I decided to wear mine every day. I thought about it, and came to the conclusion that it is only a watch; materialistic things are here one day and gone the next.
For goodness sake, just hold the two watches up next to each other so we can compare! I need an affordable replica... because i can't afford a real one and need to know what and where i can buy.
diegopiro, i believe your incorrect. i own an authentic GMT master, Yachtmaster (1 and 2) and a datejust, and just recently had a submariner passed down to me, all REAL and certified, and all of them remain in motion even in the time adjustment setting, the reason for that is so that the watch can remain accurate to the second and minute, even if you adjust the hour hand. gorgeous timepice demonviper, have a nice day.
No they don't. I have both a Sea Dweller and a GMT Master, both purchased at an authentic dealer, and they stop when you set them. I believe it is called the "hack" function, so as to sync them with other watches. Whatever you have is either not
Hm, the Submariner I've got, stops moving when adjusting the time. I've never seen any Rolex watch that allowed the hand to continue to sweep, while adjusting the time. Nice replica though.
@demonviper It seems 90% of the watches are 'made for pilots'. I am an airline pilot and I find it hilarious. Bezel's full of information that is right on front of you on the screen. ELT's in the breitling watches, like an airplane doesn't have its own ELT. Its just for shows, its jewelry. I love great watches, but sometimes I wish they would stop call everything 'pilot watches'.
Whilst true I have found the stopwatch, E6-B, GMT, and simple hour hand time zone change on my citizen skyhawk to be quite usefull in times where I cant be bothered enough to carry the largeer counterparts (ground school for example). But generally I agree most people that buy these never use them like they should, ive only seen one GMT master with the right GMT time.
@vfrmaverick Funny thing is, I actually use a Citizen Skyhawk A-T when I fly :). I love the fact that its always within a second accurate of UTC atomic time.
@hermanshermits124124 Pilot's watches were an invention of the 1930s, when airplanes were primitive things with primitive control panels. If you wanted to know where / when you were, you had a watch which could be used to calculate that. The pilot watch is a historical anachronism which only sees air travel in the passenger seat of a commercial jet, not the cockpit.
How can you claim that when adjusting time the watch has to keep running in order for it to be accurate. Isn't that why you are adjusting it? I know that there maybe a difference in the hack function of the GMT Master and the Master II, but the reason people like a hack function is so they can sync it with an atomic clock, or some other accurate source.
@JM800 When you adjust the time, only the hour hand is moving. So you can sync your watch on your local time. The second hand moves while you adjust to keep it accurate.
@ViperGuy84 The difference would be whether it has a hacking movement. I think that all Rolex Datejusts got a hacking movement in the early 1970s. My 1969-dated movement does not have it. Another big delineation is the quickset date. Omega switched to a quickset date in the mid-60s with the 564 movement, offered in Certified Chronometer and non-CC versions (Constellation and Seamaster). I don't know if the Tudor and Air King watches from Rolex followed suit with their 36mm Rolex cousins.
The original GMT Master, that I have, is worth more than the ones retailing today. And its only going to increase in value...Have fun with your Seikos and Citizens. Those will attract females for sure. Shouts sophistication.
Rolex makes a fine 600 dollar watch. The fact that people are willing to pay a 400-600% premium is a testament to their marketing efforts. Ever notice that the finest watches from Japan are conspicuously absent with all the Hong Kong replicas? I'll take a real Grand Seiko or Citizen Campanola any day: they are truly the best watches in the high end sector and you don't have to worry about your waiter wearing a clone that may in fact work better than your genuine Sub. JM2C
@BillJ52 The Campanola is a nice watch - plenty of complications that when sold back into the market you can maybe get 1/3 your purchase price. I know - have owned two. The Grand Seiko is a nice Rolex type replica. Same sale scenario. The Rolex on the other hand will fetch at least 80% of you purchase price and many time it can sell for more than you paid. As a mechanical piece the Seiko and and Citz. are nice, but as an investment piece - worth what you payed? Rolex all the way.
Dont be to cocky on the real rolex they cost 500 every 3-5 years to be cleaned.I have a fake with a miyota movement been running non stop for 5 years as i keep it on a winder it keeps better time than either of my real ones.I also have some invictas that reseble this model that keep time well under 300 with swiss eta 2428 movt.
You're either not taking good care of your watch at all, or that you're stupid enough to get majorly ripped off (maybe you're cleaning it every month?).
Just wear it, there is no point having it if you don't wear it. Get it insured and then you are sorted. Mine is insured for £10 pcm, and that is the going rate for a GMT.
A new real rolex costs abot £2500 for men, or $5000, a GMT is about £3500 now, or $7000.
Just wear it, there is no point having it if you don't wear it. By the way a real rolex starts at £2500, so about $5000. The real GMT is about £3500, or $7000. Get it insured, and who cares.

replicas are always the best option in wearing a Rolex. ive got a collection of Rolex Replicas which look and feel like the authentics. i got a Youtube vid of my collection which is pretty good. i thought why should i spend nearly close to $200,000 on some watches when i can spend $1000 on some reps which actually are like the real ones.
Thats not the point of buying a rolex i bought mine cos its a quaility watch with warranty id rather have a real g shock than a fake rolex ive seen very good fake but there still shit and will not last long
I agree completely. Yes, it's true that the quality of a real Rolex is unparalleled, and the replicas coming out of China and the like are not made with the care and precision that gets put into the real deal. However, a lot of the better replicas out there have really nice movements, and are completely indistinguishable from the real thing to anyone shy of an expert. At the end of the day what matters is that they look good and keep time, which replicas do. I say go for a replica.
Very good idea to purchase the replica as a back up. I have had to put my sub in my pocket on several occasions during my travels in the DC/Baltimore area.
Did i miss the real one? you dont have a real rolex do you?
