Thanks every one for posting comments. I made this vid about 5 or so years ago. Lets keep on subject here. When you travel on the ferry over to Ocracoke you are on a great Island with great people. When you spend money it is not going to China. Listen to what the song has to say about us as a people. Don't try to think too much because it is pretty simple.

I'm 48 years old, My Parents and I used to go there every year, for a week, when I was a kid. camped at the federal campground, no running water, electricity, etc. I haven't been there in 20 plus years, but would love to go back, just to see how it's really been screwed up. From what I hear, another National Treasure, sold out to Big money.
Wal Mart is a horrible company....the worst management I have ever run across in my many years of working jobs.....horrible, rude, threatening, unfriendly (to associates). Wal Mart employees paid such pitiful salaries...No 40 hours guaranteed..just whatever they want to give you each week..Employees having to apply for food stamps...live in trailers...pay out of their pockets for health care policies....thus further reducing the pitiful take home pay each month. 70% of products made in China.
Ayeeeeee, I agree with me fellow opinions about the natural splendor of the inlet being harvested to feed the corporate crooks of the tourist bizz. However, theres pirate in this here blood and that can never be took away. If you so called locals (as you say you are) are tired of the developers...then take a stand if you have the pirate running through your vains. Stop selling off your land. Ahh, but wait...it be a different tune when that money is waved in your face says I. I feel for Mr.Teach
who owns the place? i do! there are lots of locals there. It was a fishing tournament held at Smax that was great! Thanks Willis Gupton and Fess Winsted, and to all the Beaufort County people that will see this! What a weekend that was right! I see you under the scale there Nookie! hehe
I've seen this guy play and sing and he's great!! And all those Ocracoke folks are awesome people. Ocracoke Island is a great place to visit... and NO LONG ASS BRIDGES EITHER... on the Island of Ocracoke!WOOHOOOOOO!!!
Of course Okracoke is a tourist spot, but locals are there and do come out to hear him play. I was not insinuating that ALL of those folks were locals. I just think the people who live there are nice people... that is my experience.
Beer, great music, nice beach what can you want more :D

I'm on the mainland of the U.S. and I'm over 10 miles from a Wal-Mart, but still, one is not too far away.

The great thing about Ocracoke is no walmart, no 7-11. There's no place like Ocracoke- My Favorite place. . I've been going there for 18 years.
