Tupac is good, but he is THE most overrated rapper of the genre of hip-hop. But over all, hip-hop is great regardless

Not really into hip hop at all. I really don't recommend that you investigate further into this putrid, decrepid genre, Phil. You're a rock and metal guy, not some snot nose hip hop gangsta wannabe.

I'll agree that is decrepit as of late, but it used to be one of the most innovative genres out. Plenty of underground artists defy lots of gangsta stereotypes.
Beastie Boys used to be one of my favorite bands.

Man, you got it all wrong. Hip-hop isn't just gangster wannabes filling it up..Truth is, there is so much hip-hop out there, that you just got to look for some really unique ones, and listen to a lot more, than just generalizing it, Like my favorite rappers/Groups, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, Freundeskreis, Massive Tone, Pharcyde, Channel Live, Blahzay Blahzay, and others....You just gotta have some open ears, and be willing to search music stores, or the web for genuine stuff!
