From what I understand Browning himself was not happy with this design. Are the problems uniqe to IAC or is the 1887 just not one of Browning's best designs?
BOUGHT ONE 4 MONTHS AGO & 1ST TIME USING IT HAD PROBLEMS EJECTING ROUNDS! TRIED NUMEROUS DIFFERENT BRANDS OF AMMO BUT TO NO AVAIL.
SENT IT BACK TO IAC IN QLD, TOOK THEM 6 WEEKS TO FIX & THEY DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. RETURNED IT AGAIN & ARE STILL WAITING. IF NOT FIXED THIS TIME WILL GET A REFUND & BUY A WINCHESTER!!!
$850 FOR A NEW LA SHOTGUN THAT DOESN'T EJECT ROUNDS,
Just cycled 35 rounds through my IAC M87. Shell cartridge is not ejecting as it should. What can I do to rectify this? Or is it a manufacturer defect?
My IAC 1887 Lever action 12 gauge has been back to Nioa Trading twice & still doesn't work (not ejecting rounds). Not going for a third time like yourself therefore have got a full refund on it. To anyone out there thinking of buying an IAC 1887 LA SHOTGUN, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY THEY'RE DUDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was thinking about getting one of these cause of the 5 shot and i cant have a pump action in australia with my licence class but every one i watch seems to jam i wonder if the chiappa would be better?
@gtr71torana Chiappa makes good ones as well, but they tend to jump in price from the IAC/Norinco model. Instead of 300-400 dollars they touch about 1,000-1,500 depending where you go
Hi, i have the same model shotgun with the same problem. I find that when using European rounds such as Eley (British) they will all eject nicely with no jams. The shells are slightly shorter than brands such as Winchester. Looking at a Winchester super X it has a measurement of 70mm, an Eley First 7 1/2 measures 67.5 mm. Its not much but it makes a difference. Hope that helps.
thank for the advice mate i have returned the gun however and ordered a Chiapa version which came with three interchangable chokes and is made in Italy so that has to be an improvement on chinese junk
from what ive heard the chiappa's arent much better than the IAC, and its an extra $1k+ more. Got my new IAC one today, the 87-A or whatever the new model is called... gest a test out tomorrow if it doesnt rain. have you seen the new stocks on the chiappa's?
hey they're all the same. went to gun shop but they are idiots, the guy was pointing to the primary extractor and calling it the ejector. i was told the reason for the leather strap on the lever was because they know they have problems ejecting and that you have to really work the action hard. strip it and deburr everything you can, it helped us a bit, but still shit. make it a game to see who can get seven in a row. check out my vids
i just bought a new iac lever for 920 , there a new batch , re machined . they were hand assembled a machined . but now its all done by a machine . so there is no inconsistantcy.
its chambered for 2 3/4" shells i checked that before i bought it , it's also stamped on the barrell, and they wont go in if it's chambered for 2 1/2" ive tried on a double barrell i have. thanks anyway its just shit chinese junk and has been refunded
What's the plus 2 mean? How come u don't say + 1 like in a semi automatic pistol or a rifle? How come its +2? I don't get it hahahhaahhahahahahahahah.
yeah i tried some different brands and loads and had some success but i wanted to use Winchester 00SG which wont cycle properly. Nioa have refunded my money since i posted the vid and i have ordered a Chiappa which comes with 3 chokes so ill be interested in how it goes. Thanks for your help mate

From what I know you arent supposed to shoot 3 inch loads in a lever action.
darrelltrout 2 years ago
2 3/4 inch chambers in the lever actions.

the leather strap is wrapped around to prevent pinching your fingers as the lever is split and has a slight pinch point if the leather is not there

Have you tried it out yet.
jorg243 2 years ago
can u spin the gun in 1 hand to lode the next shell in to the chamber.
churst2323 2 years ago
You can only do that with certain guns, else you can sprain your wrist pretty bad. Arnie had a specially modified gun for that scene from T2.

How many rounds is a lever action shotgun allowed to hold in Australia for target shooting?
KillFrenzie 3 years ago
I'm not sure about the actual law but I suspect customs won't like the idea of more than a 5 shot magazine maybe 10. (I think this one is 5+2)
omgwtfnerfme 3 years ago
Yeah, i heard it's ok aslong as it's less then 10. I think it holds 7 talked to another mate who has one.
KillFrenzie 3 years ago
yep 5 + 2
