  • ...The only thing this song and TLC's has in common is the title, a few words of the hook, and the message exercising caution. Everything else is just different. Stylistically or otherwise.

  • um there is no comparing this song to the TLC's Waterfalls. This is really good. (But then again how could it not be?) One could make the arguement that both are about exercising caution but honestly that it.

  • This is the best video ever! <3 Paul

  • What a great song, and a great video! I wonder if TLC ever acknowledged they stole Macca's song title and verse, "Don't go chasing Waterfalls..."?

  • He's so amazing. :) <3

  • Как кому-то в голову могло прийти идея о двойнике?! В этом видео Пол выглядит абсолютно так же как во времена The Beatkes...

    Отличная песня!

  • I could never get into this song. But I woke up with this song playing in my head and now I can't stop listening to it. Gorsh, you did it once again, Paul.

  • loving the greenscreen...

  • great song

  • last night i woke up with this song in my mind. can't explain why...

  • I love his voice too and this song remembering me the Beatles, when they where togethet and this is a very good feelig.

  • 0:39 wow! .-)

  • Such a lovely song :)

  • The most ardent Beatles and McCartney fan must accept that this is real cornball.

  • He jumped one big waterfall when he went off and married Heather Mills.

  • I love this song,it's so moving,it talks about being more careful LIFE.

  • Such a beautiful song... Love you Paul!

  • If you listen to Lennons one day at a time similar word structure

  • This was summer 1980 and lennon loved the McCartney 2 album

  • what year might this be? anyway he looks cute :)

  • @lyzelsa16 1980

  • He looks so hot in this video oh my god

  • @kimberlyestoque13 Please! He looks hot in everything!!

  • @kimberlyestoque13 Even with granddad clothes,he can have it all;-)))

  • Just when I thought I couldn't love him more...*sigh*

  • I remember when this came out. I always thought this was one of the most melancholy things he ever did. Of course, it was around 1980 or so therefore there was plenty to be melancholy about. I remember it well. seems like three years ago not thirty.

  • His voice at 1:04. So hot.... ;)

  • @Beavis9633 at 1:04, before and beyond! The whole thing is just beautiful in physicality and voice :')

  • I loved Paul's clothes, he was beautiful at this time.

  • @SpiritSeekras yeah me too my friend, hope things are looking up for you

  • merci i love paul mc cartney and the beatles......love for ever.....

  • Love this one.

  • The music video is not what I expected, but i really enjoy the song. One of the best on McCartney II - by far. It was a warning to John lennon to be careful out there.

  • i am going to see paul mccartney in 2 weeks at the liverpool echo i paid 85 pound for my tickets and justin bieber tickets there was 25 pound so we shouldnt even put justin on a paul mccartney song should we come on he isnt even close to paul so why are we bothered?

  • Only a genius could compose and sing a song of this sort. Would love to hear what a person trained in music thinks of this piece?

  • One of his best tracks ever. This is hauntingly beautiful. And I don't know why he is attacked for his whimsical lyrics. Child like and simplistic. I love the polar bear references. An absolute genius.

  • @MosesMishy He was made fun of, a bit by Lennon for his "whimsical" lyrics, wasn't he? And that (the ppl who can't like both John and Paul, and have to take a side), along with the angry/pubescent among us, are the only direction the attacks seen to come from. I agree wholeheartedly with what you wrote but "child like and simplistic", althought true, paves the way for future attacks from nitwits who use those exact words and the like to undermine what is "simply" a beautiful nauture

  • Wow I love this song :)

  • i think the video might have been better if the polar bear had gone on the rampage at 1.28 and chased mccartney across the sliiiipppppy ice. just saying.

  • lyrically mccartney has always been a wee bit shit. anyone else remember the horrors of "i know i was a crazy fool to treat you the way i did, but something took a hold of me and i acted like.....a dustbin lid" HOWLER! anyway, 10/10 for mastery in melody and harmony. Love you massively Paul! x

  • He doesn't like this song. So you'll never find it on a McCartney compilation.

  • @80skiwi i'm not surprised

  • @theredtelephone1

Does have a strong and charming melody though. My memories of this song go back to 1981 at Wainuiomata intermediate where some school mates mastered the tune on their casio calculators.

  • @80skiwi I've got it on a Paul McCartney and Wings compilation called Wingspan.

  • @craig50

Sorry put my foot in the keyboard. Should've known better because I have seen that album on the shelves.

  • @80skiwi The interview that wikipedia quoted happened in 2007. The question was: "Are there any songs of yours that you think deserved to be bigger than they were?" And Mccartney, out all of the great little known songs singled out "Waterfalls" and "Daytime nighttime suffering"

  • @80skiwi Where did you heard that? Wikipedi says: "When questioned on singles he wished were more successful, McCartney stated, "There's quite a few, actually...'Waterfalls', I think is nice.""

  • @LinktothepastZ

    That's interesting.

Contradicts a TV interview (probably sometime in the 90s) in which McCartney said he didn't like the song and there was an occassion when he let his opinion known to a fan who he met on a bus. The fan disagreed.

  • @fLcGambit You are an idiot.

  • @dirkbogarde44 So are you for reacting to that haha;-)))

  • Don't go jumping polar bears? xD

  • @BeckyBeatle I would love to jump polar bears;-) If it wasn,t for the fact they,re so darn dangerous. But he does not say it;-) funny though

  • @BeckyBeatle Dont go chasing polar bears.

  • @95Tortoise Haha I know ;) It's just on Monday I kept on singing it like that in school :') Not like anyone knew what I was singing :D Lol

  • Im sure Sir Paul and lady Linda were having problems maybe she had been poorly for a while he maybe just sang and wrote this for her.

  • @wardrobe7567 After the Beatles broke up they lived in a sort of dump in Scotland. The money was forzen because of the problems between the Beatles, it was probably the happiest time for Paul and Linda;-)

There they formed the idea of starting Wings;-)

  • Beautiful as a god!!!!

  • This is a great video, I've been a fan of Sir Paul's solo work for little over a year and a half now but I had never seen this video until now, The song is also phenomenal, my favorite recording of his for sure.

  • @TheSquadalahMan To my opinion this video is bad and he is a bad actor. He seems not to feel good in the bluescreen setting and the makeup and stuff. He is a musician either live on stage or writing at home - and that's all and it's enough. (Not to be misunderstood: he is a great entertainer and few people a so smart and funny, but his wit is spontaneous at any time.)

  • HOW. CUTE. IS. HE????!!! :)

  • polar bears ???

  • @gailmckennag I know it's a strange line but the imagery created a meme which I never forgot. I heard this when I was a sophmore in high school and found this song based on this line:

  • @gailmckennag LMAO!

  • @gailmckennag its the acid lol

  • @gailmckennag Lionel Blairs

  • this is the cheesiest fucking video ever omg i love paul so much

  • I love Paul McCartney.

  • I mean i knew he was in his 20's in the 1960's and then 30's in the 1970's. but he looks so young here!

  • he was only 40 in this video? gosh i woulda thought he was in his early-mid 30's! maybe even 20's. He's has a baby face for sure. He's such a beautiful man inside and out! I love his sweet voice :) this is such an underrated song that's for sure. This is my first time hearing it and i already love it :) Love ya Paul! ♥

  • such a beautiful song, such a beautiful man! <3

one thing gets me, paul says he needs love in this song many times. but then he closes and locks the door on all of us. that isnt very nice...?

    hehe <3 lovee you paul!!

  • He seems pretty calm for having A BUNCH OF BEARS AND GIANT WATER FOUNTAINS FLOODING HIS HOUSE

  • The TLC song by the same name is better.

  • @lazerloop BOOOOOOO........

  • @lazerloop

Please, please tell me you're kidding. I mean hey, we all have our own personal music tastes and thats fine if you like them. BUT HOW CAN YOU COMPARE IT TO PAUL MCARTNEY?! Haha! Paul and the beatles in general are in their own dimension man, you can't say anything is better. :D

  • i would like to no WHO can jump Over A Fucking Water Fall

  • I love Paul., I love the Beatles., but this song sucks !

  • @MrRoxxstar Booooo....

  • @MrRoxxstar not really....

  • No matter what the song Justin Bieber gets slated. Leave the kid alone. We are on the same journey.

  • i wouldent chase a pola bear, only paul can chase em away :)

  • i love this video...holy crap. its like something modern bands would like to pull off

  • I fuckin love macca. I'm a punk by upbringing, but seriously, if you stop worrying about cool, you'll hear supernatural shit in what he does. Just love the man for what he is able to create.

  • HAHA IT'S A POLAR BEAR! THAT'S SO SILLY :)

  • What if I would say that this album was heard enough in adolescence. one answer is that I'm getting old and silly in remembering it

    an intense youth.

  • this guy is just a brilliant songwriter....

  • Utterly charming.

  • He didn't rip TLC off - it was the other way around.

  • Paul McCartney!!

    Ur a living legend!! :''>

  • @xxTitanicRocksxx LOL well he was around forty in this video. Paul is a gemini (like me) and is said in astrology that geminis always have that childish look and always young appeareance. The problem is that once old age falls upon us, evrybody can notice. But he's cute and the hansomest man for me no matter how many years pass.

  • @shalott43 LOL astrology is bullshit

  • I CAN HEAR TLC IN THIS SONG...DID PAUL RIP THEM OFF?!

  • @rssfeedslive are you for real? i hope not. you cant be THAT RETARDED!

  • @rssfeedslive this song was written before TLC existed

  • Paul is far too cute! ♥

  • polar bears??????? lmfao

  • paul is truley the best

  • Comment removed

  • 10 people went jumping waterfalls...

  • I cannot stress how good this song is. So underrated.

  • Horrible video, the song is just ok

  • @gotchava Great video, and song stolen by TLC, but you are a dumbass.

  • He still looks so young.

  • Nice shirt-vest combination, Paul!

  • @MertonHayford Melody ai't 2 bad either. How do you keep coming up with such gorgeous material?

  • This video - 164,000 views

Justin Bieber - Baby - 500 million views

    Music Industry>FAIL

  • @MSJCPoetry Justin Bieber five minutes fame, no song writing ability of note, Paul McCartney, a member of the most successful band of all time-period: not even in dispute.

Paul McCartney best selling artist (combined) of all time. 100 years from now Paul McCartney + Beatles will be remembered for their music, Justin Bieber for a fortunate young man, trolled on u-tube by MSJC Poetry A.K.A.cunt

  • @lujas10 Elvis isthe best.

  • @MSJCPoetry justin bieber has 500 million views because so many people want to comment on how rubbish he is

  • Comment removed

  • @MSJCPoetry = TROLL, you fail "MSJCPoetry". MACCA is God.

  • A brilliant McCartney piece which could have easily found itself on one of The Beatles latter day albums. The chords, the melody, so beautifully crafted, so McCartney. To anybody commenting on his dubious ‘1970’s over-hang’ taste in sweaters/vests - agreed (fair isle, tweed, etc, not a good scene) but within the context of the music – who gives a rat’s fat arse?! This is timeless, genius McCartney, wardrobe aside. I love him.

  • what is up with paul and those atrocious sweater vests

  • fuck now thats a good song

  • 10 people r fucking gay and have no soul or heart

  • McCartney II" album,

    Entry Date : 21st June 1980

    Highest Position : 9

Weeks in Chart : 8 Weeks

  • Hey, does anyone know what album this is from?

  • Don't tell me TLC didn't quote this for there version of "waterfalls" I'm not even mad, I think it's cool

  • @Jmdaly

i was just about to comment on how the beginning sounded like TLC's song Waterfalls

  • TLC - WATERFALLS

  • To my mind this is in the top 10 songs that Sir Paul has written. Stunning.

  • What a beautiful song!

  • therefore*

  • Was this a hit? I don't think it was. But it's a great record. :)

  • @Planetoxo was that its motivation, don't think it was

  • @Planetoxo I'm not sure if this song was released as a single as such..but it deserved to be a BIG hit.

The pure quality of his singing here could teach many modern "singers" a thing or two.

  • @mooneepondskid I agree.

  • @mooneepondskid Yes it was a single, in edited form. It was on his 2nd solo album, not 2nd album but 2nd apart from Wings around 1980. This is pure Paul, always knows how to move us with emotionally charged beauty.

  • @lakefloor Not his second solo album. his third solo album actually. Ram is his second.

  • @WagTheDoug Actually that album was credited to the names Paul and Linda McCartney when it was originally released. It also had session musicians, some of which would become part of Wings. So when I meant solo I meant the 2 albums in which he played all the instruments himself.

  • sorry, i did'nt mean artist and Beiber in same sentance

  • Probably went for a 20 minute walk and wrote this while musing along one day on the back of a scrap of paper, the kind of genius Beiber and the rest of todays artists would not be capable of in a thousand lifetimes

  • What an amazing song! Brought me right back 30 years :(

  • He was nearly 40, and still looked that good. that is just ... wow

  • @meloveyou38 And now he's nearly 70 and still looks young. :)

  • this song is amazing (= (=

  • This song is so underrated. It's a perfect song to listen to at night to simply relax.

  • Amazing. I was 8 when this came out and I can remember hearing it and loving it. I had no idea it was Paul McCartny. I had since forgotten about it for 30 years then heard it on BBC Radio 2's Pick of the Pops and it all came flooding back. Unbelieveable. Was amazed it was McCartny too but then, he is one of the world's best song writer's, isn't he?

  • @lewis72

Yes I heard it too on POTP and remembered I must did it out ... been in my head the next day ...

  • Wow that vest really matches the song - they both hurt my ears. And people say pot is harmless.

  • this is one of my fave's from him, this is soo good *sigh* :)

  • This is one of Paul's most underated songs, not sure why it is emotionally evocative, it is beautiful. The Great Sir Paul McCartney :)

  • @BadRobot71 I think this is the song John mentioned that sounded like Paul was depressed. You can really hear the emotion in his voice, and he actually recorded this album at home. He wasn't planning to release McCartney II at all. Just making music for himself.

  • @TheOneartist i agree

  • @CzCee

    you plonker

  • @CzCee Troll.

  • @CzCee And the other songs on this album have the beat and funk.

  • @CzCee if you were a stable person you wouldn't be using the word; "lol" as much as you did. Therefor I'll say that you're inable to judge any situation, nor music for that matter. Before posting an idiotic comment again, THINK, ok?

  • Paul McCartney: The King of Nerdy Sweater Vests! :D

  • @sms23lvr OMG!! I say that every time I see him in a sweater vest!!! Look on google images for paul mccartney sweater vest and the funniest pic of him is on it!!

  • @sms23lvr I don't think it's nerdy at all. Paul's just trying to be groovy.

  • @sms23lvr I'm a big fan of them. Although this one has buttons it looks like it they not meant to be buttoned.

  • @Whammo1963 And it's a woman's vest! (buttons the woman's way) LOL!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAUL MCCARTNEY

  • @TheBeatles4ver it makes me think about Magical Mystery Tour film!

  • Yeah, I need love...

  • Su cabello <3

  • Love this song and video.

  • @craig50 paul mccartney is so much cooler, better, and not to mention, cleaner than john lennon

  • John Lennon's solo career always seemed to get more recognition than Paul McCartney's but personally i much prefer Paul, you forget just how many superb songs he wrote and performed after he left the Beatles.......a true legend.

  • @craig50 i am the total opposite! i think Lennon's solo material was stronger but it never got the attention it deserved

  • Se ve tan lindo Paul, como en la mejor época Beatle!! My Love!!

  • Se ve tan lindo Paul, como en la mejor época Beatle!! My Love!!

  • Why can't I marry him?? It makes me so sad the fact that I'm never going to find a man like him.Why this kind of men are so imposible to get?

  • @missbeatleforever u know he was involved in marijuana transportation, right? Not someone i'd like to marry, regardless that he's an amazing songwriter.

  • @modnarm That's your point of view,and it's ok.I have another point of view,and that's ok too

  • @modnarm

He wasn't involved in the drug trade. He brought marijuana with him from place to place.
