Are the pictures of the galaxies just artists impressions? And, if so... how the hell are they imagine what the would look like... because I'm sure we are trillions of years away from ever having technology to send us pictures from that far out

No they are real images taken by the Hubble Space Telescope, its worth Billions of American Dollars, thats why there so detailed, but there all real, some of them over 11 Billion Lightyears away ...

lol...the telescope taking the pictures is way out in space and yes it takes a long time to load it picture as it is taken .. you should look up the hubble telecope you could learn somthing
