You are very sensible still having VHS cassettes. I go around markets and boot fares and have picked up some very good ones for between 20p and £1. The going rate at the moment is about 5 for £1!!
I copy them onto DVD discs and take the VHS to a charity shop for them to sell again.

Thanks for showing your Vera-Ellen memorabilia. I've recently discovered V-E and have become a big fan too. She was certainly hard working and made it look all so easy, the true mark of a professional.
