Coupes and newer saloons (2008 onwards) have 272bhp, 0-60 in under six and average 39mpg (manual), can get 50mpg extra urban! Im thinking of getting a coupe :-)
I'm happy with my E47 330i, but the only performance mods are the Signature Motoring performance intake for about $160. Signature Motoring kit adds around 11.6HP on the dyno, great sound, and the best performance upgrade for the money.
Aside from the power gain, the SOUND is amazing at higher RPMS!
-Adds 11.6 HP
-Never replace filter again (K&N)
-GREAT SOUND
-Installs in maybe 30 min. K&N filter lasts a lifetime.

do these have 250hp? thats what i heard. whats the 0-60 time? im asking cuz im thinking abt getting one cuz my mustang is so shitty on gas mileage and i do ALOT of driving so i need something better on gas
hahaha i know that. but i heard the last year they made them they had 250hp. im trying to make up my mind on that or a brand new 328i. which one u think is faster?
@TerminatorSVT it has 255hp, and ive heard it can do 0-60 in 6 seconds, however ive also seen stats as gd as 5.6 so its a pretty fast car for that kind of hp
the K8 1.8 liter v6 mx6 does it in mid 7 seconds, so that wikipedia article must be very very wrong. I'm about to go check it out, and try to correct whatever garbage is there. Good headsup, tonedeft
I would still prefer an E30 M3 over this 330i or any Mazda. (watch?v=NkQBD3eYADA)
The RX-8 is a really fun car though.
I drive cars for a living and definitely enjoy Mazda's, but at the end of the day, I prefer a Bimmer for their handling (although I do wish they would leave the driving to the driver)
Also, I just went back again and looked and I think I may have misread the info. I don't think it gave a 0-60 time for any engine other than stock, but it does mention the klze right afterward.
But this stock 330 is faster than a stock 626 and it probably is faster than it even with the klze. I couldn't find 0-60 times for a 626 with the klze, but an MX-3 with the klze hits 60mph in 8.5 seconds according to wikipedia. This hits 60mph in under 7 seconds.
I dont think you're doing it on purpose, so I assume you're telling the truth. This means that wikipedia is dead wrong. MX with KLze 0-60 mph from a standstill is low 5 seconds, the MX6 and 626 and FORD PROBE with KLZE achieve it in very high 5s. Furthermore, it's cheaper.
Right. I chose the 330i and added Dinan elements rather than going 335 b/c I wanted more reliability and saved big $. It's not as quick as 335i out of the box, but w Dinan changes pokes HP up around 40 and gives it an exotic sound. I had my E36 for 12 years, and know that the I-6 is bulletproof if you leave them pretty much alone and work on the breathing.
normally aspirated 330 far more tunable if you can find one with sports pkg. 6-speed manual is the ONLY transmission to have. Dinan box, Dinan Pipes are simple add on to make it a monster. 0-60 in 5.2.
I was just driving this at a BMW event. I own an E30 325.
What do you mean 'normally aspirated 330 far more tunable' though? The only non-naturally aspirated 3-series is the 335. The 330 never came in a turbocharged version unless it was after-market.
Neither did I, but I didn't have a choice. It did have a semi-manual sequential manual gearbox (SMG) though (the little paddles on the steering wheel).....Not like the SMG in the M cars though.
Go test drive both and I guarantee you will pick the 330. If you have the money though, get the 335. It has a twin turbo 300hp 300lb-ft torque flat six. It reaches max torque at just 1500RPMs and doesn't let off until almost 6000. It will blow your mind.
Also, if you REALLY want to test a BMW, go to bmwusa(dot)com/theultimatedrive and sign up. You can really test the car that way without anyone riding with you.
The 330 does 5.5 stock, and it has 255 HP.

the 335 is more exotic and more beautifull. when it goes to M3. Don't try to compare it. Although you heavily modified the 335.
But the 335 is still pussy magnet. :)

I don't really remember for certain but I think it was 230hp with a 0-60 of 6.7 secs.
I could be wrong though.
Definitely handles better than a Mustang though.

this is not the E46, this is the E90 and have 258hp.
The older E46 330i have 231hp.

yea they have 256hp in the 330i....the 0-60 time is 6.1 seconds for the 330i and 6.7 seconds for the 325i
