Bad Moon was terrible.

It was based off of the book 'Thor', which was an amazing story told from the point of view of the dog, rather than a person. Honestly, all they did in Bad Moon was cut half of the characters, make it a strong single mom instead of a family, and make the dog a supporting character rather than the star.

Just as long as you don't mean the 2010 Remake.. That was not a good movie..

A Werewolf movie is remembered always about the Transformation an the Final product, hence why American Werewolf in London, The Howling, an Dog Soldier's are often regarded as some of the best.. besides the Originals from the 1940's ect such as The Wolf-man.

Bad Moon has an average transformation, but the final product was stunning an creepy.. So it's 1 of the few exception's.

I agree that American...In london is by far the best werewolf movie ever made..funny though...none of the typical werewolf lore is apart of it. No silver bullets, etc....great movie...and definitely the best transformation ever....that stop action..at least for that scene is better than any cgi i have ever seen. transformations in cgi just look like cartoons with a real backdrop,

Ginger Snaps is the best modern werewolf movie. The transformation from human to wolf is used as a metaphor for puberty, something EVERYONE can relate to. It it SOOOOOO good. Anyone who hasn't seen must find it any way u can. But if u decide to delve into the sequals, skip the second one and go straight for the third one. (Dog Soldiers is pretty sweet too!!)

I am so glad you have Bad Moon so high on this list. That was a definite top 10. (although i can disagree with cursed being 1 ahead of wolf in paris, werewolf in paris was actually IMO maybe the 4th or 5th best werewolf movie. cursed still makes my top 10, maybe at #8.)

So I assume you've never seen Wolf, Curse of the Werewolf, the Paul Naschy movies (those are kinda hit or miss but entertaining), Werewolf of London, or even the original Wolfman? I never saw In the Company of Wolves or Dog Soldiers so I can't say. I personally don't care for CGI reliant ones compared to make-up or puppets (GS had some CGI but was 98% make-up). Van Helsing is more of a multi-monster movie too and to me if that counts on werewolf lists Monster Squad was better. Just me though.
