This has nothing to do with the economy. All it shows is how depressing he American culture is. Things that make normal human beings happy don't exist in the USA. These needs are filled buy material goods and drugs. People spend the money they don't have out of desperation. The entire time they shop they are further brainwashed by Christmas music as if the holiday meant something special. Real Christmas exists in many other countries but not in the USA. I feel sorry for those who don't get it.

Yes we americans are constantly consuming but you must understand something we also are a very giving country and one of the most charitable. In some ways i do think we have lost the true sense of christmas... it is not about what we recieve but is about the birth of jesus and many people celebrate christmas without all the gifts and without black friday. no one actually shops to help the economy. part of the issue is that half of these people are paying for this crap with money they don't even have...it's an endless credit cycle that's going to fall through in a matter of time...the stores want us to spend and we obey without judgement or question
