  • Heron Hi, thanks so much, I'm learning blues fingerstyle and finding it very difficult to achieve Thumb Independence. I love the idea of playing a scale under the thumping base like you did in A. This is really helpful, more like this please :o) Goorbarr, aka Richard, UK

  • thanks...really enjoyed that...i must practice more often !!!

  • now that's fuckin impressive!

  • goed man, welke gitaar heb je? zijn er ergens noten te vinden? of tabs?

  • He dank je! Het is een Larrivee. De tab kun je vinden op myspace . com /heronymusic of stuur me je email adres even. dan stuur ik het naar je toe. Groeten Jeroen

  • nice lesson, thanks a lot

  • objective is clear UND i am seizing!!

  • your the man bro thanks 4 that

  • hi tanks for the vids. im just wondering what would be a good song to learn as an intro to this technique??

  • uhmm maybe some Eric Clapton or try the blues book from Johnny Norris. Bye Jeroen

  • i see your Beatles Anthology on the shelf in the background 4:05

  • fijne nederlandse blues =)

  • hate to be picky but is'nt the bass notes in A not supposed to be using the A and D strings rather than the E and D

  • Hi , a ,d and e are all posible for playing blues in a . Best regards Jeroen

  • The D (IV) is a perfectly correct substitution for the Tonic A. Or the II chord of A minor (Tonic C).

  • Addendum,

    g33k4

Go with what sounds good to your Ear

  • by the way, are the last two examples in an open tuning?

  • Thanks a lot! The first example on the end is in open d tuning and the last one is in normal tuning. Greetings Jeroen

  • that last example was mind blowing, you're a great guitarist

  • This is one of the most hardcore lessons I have ever scene. Very tight.

  • oh oh jero still going strong! kootje

  • Really nice lesson, Jeroen! I learned something tonight! I've never really played much blues. Alternating bass is not a problem, but had never done this before. Thanks for posting! Something new to add to my practices! Bunny

  • Thank you so much. You have given me something to work on.

    Keep Posting

  • You are very good at guitar. Do you perform in concerts?

  • Hi , thanks! I played once solo. Love to do it more in the future, Greetings Jeroen

  • Thanks a lot Jeroen, this is just perfect for me to practice and hopefully improve.

    Kevin

  • thanks : )) it's a great help that you show, that the independence can be practiced when you play a scale and the bass part the same time, I've never thought of trying to practice it that way, but seems very efficient : )

  • Thank you Jeroen ( hope I got your name correct) This is exactly what I have been struggling with. The time and effort you take to compose your informative video's is much appreciated. Gary.

  • Netjes hoor "o
