You should look into the library schools (library and information science programs) in the New York City area for social media/"informatics" courses - they offer one in my program but I'm up in Boston. There are several of these programs in your area though, Pratt, LIU, St. John's are a few. Good luck!

As for what you should do in the video...um, charades! Act something out and then we have to guess and next video you tell us the answer. You say that you can't do music or skits, so it seems contradictory to bring up people who specifically do those things, and then use them to come to the conclusion that you need a gimmick.

As for what you should do in the video...um, charades! Act something out and then we have to guess and next video you tell us the answer. This way we continue to support (not that we wouldn't) but it would help vlog on this channel more, even for a short minute or two every week. Just a thought (a horrible one at that).

I think you're forgetting that most of us would just watch you stare at the camera for 3 mins, that's how entertaining you are, no predetermined subjects are necessary.
You look gorgeous just to let you know, you're one of those women that little or no makeup is necessary so don't worry about getting dressed up.
How about just talking about some borderline interesting things that happened to you in the past? Like telling stories basically. I bet we'd all find that interesting. (not sarcasm)

It's OK Michelle! Take it easy! Don't let the pressure get to you. I think the idea of you teaching a class about social media would be awesome. The syllabus should be pretty easy. Focus on the types of social media, a history, how it is used currently, how it might be in the future? Stuff like that!

I believe that you don't need a gimmick because it would just dilute your videos. I enjoy watching what you have to say, and if it means that you can only make a video every few weeks then that's fine.
You say that you can't do music or skits, so it seems contradictory to bring up people who specifically do those things, and then use them to come to the conclusion that you need a gimmick.
Ultimately, I think you are underestimating yourself. We love you just the way you are. =)

Honestly, I could watch your videos forever and ever as they are now, but if you feel you need a change of pace, I would recommend an "anything sarcastic" segment, in which you could totally make fun of a trending topic in society. I think it would be really fun for you to do and to see.

Here's a idea for your "Shtick" or "Gimmick" - Pimp your favorite people. Show clips of your favorite YouTubers or your new discoveries and encourage your viewers to become their viewers.
And yes, I too am a horrible procrastinator... and it does make teaching (or preparing to teach) a little harder.

Just speak , share what you think about whatever. Seriously, I'm sure you could make a video about anything and still bring a new point of view to that thing! You have a way to express yourself... so funny, and cool. You seem to be just you, and that's pretty much rare these days. So keep on doing that!
