August 2nd 2008 is when i listened to my first thunderbolt in person. The 1000 at the Elkhart train station. oddly enough, the compressor belts are busted on that siren as well.

Hey Dan, I've seen a Thunderbolt siren in person, and I think the one I saw is out of service. I don't think a new siren will take its place, but the location is at Linn St. in Williamsport, not far from The Academia cyber school, standing on location in the lot where Jackson Elementary School once stood. That old T-Bolt never activates, but one time while getting my first up close look at a T-Bolt, an accident occured at Federal Avenue. I have that video somewhere!

Those Thnderbolts are pretty powerful. They had one in Texarkana, TX, I heard it when I was caught there during funnel cloud action in Early May 2008.
