  • All praise...the awful truth...great words....ancient UFO...telepathy....hidden knowledge....

  • Rocks.

  • very underated band and song this is a great one to bad not alot of people no about it my top 5 BOC songs are Don't Fear The Reaper, E.T.I., In Thee, Astronomy, and Cities on Flame with Rock N' Roll there are alot of great songs other than the 3 that everyone knows I like Burnin for you Godzilla is good I just get tired tht they overplay it But there are alot of great songs that don't get any respect BOC rocks

  • absolutely great riff!

  • Arms raised, he's found the awful tooth, arms raised, he's found the source of MOOSE!

    See what I mean?

  • This would make a fucking AWESOME misheard lyrics, just saying.

  • best riff ever

  • best chorus ever

  • One of the most under rated rock songs I can think of.

  • Now that I hear the song with clarity I like it even bettern than before. The subject matter - the paranormal and inter-steller (or inter-dimensional) visitors and ensuing goverment cover-up efforts is well represented by snide lyrical references......"three men in black said 'don't report this'"......

The riff, as before, is great atop a great chord progression. The guitar fill in the chorus right after ....."awful truth"....sounds very Townshend-esque.

    Thanks again for posting.

  • I remember hearing this song for the first time while driving from Seattle to Portland on I-5 a couple years ago on a foggy afternoon. The only BOC songs the local classic rock station normally plays are "Burning for you," "Godzilla," or "Don't Fear the Reaper." In this case though someone made a special request for this song. I'd never heard it before and my radio had bad reception. I couldn't hear the lyrics but they sounded like a choral area powered by a kicking riff. Still, I was hooked.

  • Feel that bass!

  • BOC story (second hand) - My buddy played in a B-list band about 20 years ago and met Buck Dharma backstage at a festival that he (my friend) was playing, which BOC headlined. My friend said that Buck was a nice, down to earth guy, and so he asked if they could play this song, since it was a favorite of his. Buck said 'Well, it's not on the list, but I'll see.' Later, when BOC did their set, he dedicated 'E.T.I.' to my friend, and they played it - :-)

  • Very cool song !!!!!!!

  • Way better than Dont fear the Reaper dont know why this isnt just as or more famous .

  • @Chris9029738

I know what you mean! Much better and there are so many more that are just killer rock and roll.

  • @Chris9029738 This is'nt my account, i Hat linkin park ans simple plan and FYI This song is about lovecraft dumbasss

  • @SimplePlanLinknPark ...??? Seriously, if your going to call me out and call me a dumbasss, at least structure your sentences in a coherent way, why dont you take the time to do that before you like like an imbecile.

  • @Chris9029738 Because i felt like shit yesterday and didn't want to have to deal with an annoying internet troll. GAWD!

  • @SimplePlanLinknPark I wasnt trolling.... but hey since you were tired lets say you made a mistake.

  • @Chris9029738 Because of a certain Saturday Night Live sketch involving a cowbell :P But I agree with you, this song is just great

  • @dewolf49 lmfao, great sketch though xD

  • @Chris9029738 It's because you are the minority in your thought, this song is not "way" better than The Reaper, I wouldn't call it better in the first place, though I wouldn't say The Reaper is better than this song either, they are both uniquely great.

  • vevo is going after you wizard they're removing your vids

    DO SOMETHING!!!

  • One of the most unrecognized, coolest riffs in rock right here!!!!

  • @Rowdyrecords55 right on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Rowdyrecords55 ........Right on target..and the time signatures by Bouchard on drums always gets lost..very underated drummer

  • @Rowdyrecords55 You're fuckin' right !!!! Great rock n' roll ...... BOC must live on.....

  • @Rowdyrecords55...totally agree...it's unforgettable, just like Montrose's Rock Candy or Free's Alright Now. Same riff insanity that just worms its way into the cerebral cortex and surfaces thirty years later, craving to be rocked! God bless you, Buck Dharma!!!

  • @Rowdyrecords55 ... only un-recognized by the un-initiated. Go forth and spread the gospel.

  • @Rowdyrecords55 - BOC has some of the coolest guitar licks in history! Too bad not enough people know about them!

  • @zevex747 yeah man

Buck Duramh is an origanal guitarist dude thats why

  • Three people forgot to turn on their speakers.

He is suppose to be one of the MAGI that visited baby Jesus.....And found out that Jesus was an Alien. The Bethlehem Star is suppose to be a UFO.

  • I love BOC, but they lost something between Secret Treaties and this album. The songs are still good, but the first 3 albums were their best.

  • maybe their worst song and I love these guys. Chorus blows.

  • This is my favourite BOC song and one of my all time rock & roll loves. It MAKES you soar through the stratospherewhen you hear those high guitar notes & makes you FEEL this song:No matter what.Great rhythm from the WHOLE band! Thanks guys;you took me away and I had no choice in the matter! Thanks Blue Oyster Wizard for posting this one!CHEERS!

  • The most under rated band in all of Rock history. They belong in the Hall of Fame!

  • probally there best

  • @orgasmatron1977m not even close.

  • @thefoppa1000 opinions are like assholes

  • @orgasmatron1977m agreed; love BOC, but this one is cringe worthy. That chorus is brutal.

  • @thefoppa1000 thats ok, buck comes in to rip your face off!

  • erieboy hats off to you i seen BOC 3 or 4 times in erie co. starting in 76 ..im a corry man

  • When it comes to Heavy Metal, The Cult wrote the Book!

  • there's a movie dedicated to BOC The stoned age.watch it people.

  • We may age, but this song never gets old...

  • arnie baby-yer only young once. ::)

  • That riff just gets to ya in the best way.

    Best guitar riff ever!

  • just heard BOC opening for foghat 2 miles from my house at silver springs in ocala fl

  • @alg1960 Ohhhhh lucky, two great bands right there.

  • 2nd best song on this album thanks for posting......

  • I AM NEVER GOING TO ANOTHER BOC SHAOW IVE SEEN EM SENSE THE FIRST ALBUM AND MAYBE 50 TIMES THEREAFTER ..BUT NOW WHEN U GO TO A SHOW THEY WHEELCHAIR PPL WITH O2 TANKS TO THE FRONT .....AND U SEE OLD FAT BALD MEN ROCKING OUT ..I WISHED I NEVER LIVED THIS LONG TO SEE THIS ...FK ..TAKE ME AWAY!

  • @arnoldkevin1 yikes, bro, i'm glad i didn't have to see that horror the last couple of times i've beheld the mighty BOC / yeah, i recall way back in the great long gone, how this band pioneered ye olde laser shows, good times, just memories now ... hah, eric looked right at me, w/ my vintage BOC t-shirt, & said, "i bet that guy knows the words to this one," which proceeded to be "golden days of leather." yikes again, "our best years have passed us by," huh? spare me from the tanks & wheelchairs!

  • @arnoldkevin1 greetings from Portugal. I understand your repulsion - You wished the RnR eternal youth magick never had to go away! Hey, but you can't escape father Cronos toll. Anyway, think again - our favourite Long Island khabbalists were always ahead of their time and when one thought they were just being cynical for the sake of it, they were innovating. Maybe this humane stunt is another step beyond. Nvr saw them, wish I had, wheelchair or no whlchr, O2 tank or JD barrel! Thumbs up!

  • back in the day is right must have seen em 5 times starting in 76

  • @alg1960 yep me too great in concert

  • WHAT AN EPIC SONG.

  • Love BOC, and the album. Thanke for the post. Glad I saw 'em back in the day. ETL is me fav tho. Man the things we did while that was playing!

    D~

  • I love it when the Left hand doesn't know what the Right One is doing!

  • I'm such a arse! I saw this album at the half-price shop months ago and didn't nab it since I didn't know many of the songs and feared it might be a dud. I should've known better- it's fucking BOC!!!!

  • I love when the aliens insert the anal probe

  • @Syzygy60 Don't we all?

  • @tjrieves

Some don't, can we not talk about this!!? ;)

  • @kissthesettingsun Have you found the awful truth, Balthazar?

  • @Syzygy60 i like the alien anal probe thing

  • @Syzygy60

Me too ;-) Eric Cartman was a session guitarist on Agents Of Fortune, and this song is inspired by his colonal operation onboard the UFO.

  • After decades of loving this song and BOC in general I finally read all of the words. Hmmmm...Would have done it sooner but in my Hash jeans and bright green satin coat in 1977 at the kegger where the fire was a tire burning black it was too hard to do! Loved it then and still do!

  • I love the guitar sound when he says All Praise Uauauaa (guitar Sound)

  • I absolutely love BOC and think that every record was great, even the newer stuff, which has an updated sound but still retains the original spirit. The only exception to this is "Imaginos" WTF were they thinking there?

  • in response to johnhoulgate, absoultly, these guys were excellent musicians with intelligent lyrics, then got too commercial, then saved themselves, saw them in Cleveland, OH in 80's playing by the Cuyahoga River, excellent show, very stripped down.

  • I love the guy's voice on this studio recording.

The live versions were awful, because he shouted out the verses.

  • @discountdrugs71 I thought the ETI live album has the best version of this song. Taking nothing away from this recording of course.

  • take a hit and crank it up!!!

  • King in yellow, Queen in red!
