Now that I hear the song with clarity I like it even bettern than before. The subject matter - the paranormal and inter-steller (or inter-dimensional) visitors and ensuing goverment cover-up efforts is well represented by snide lyrical references......"three men in black said 'don't report this'"......

The riff, as before, is great atop a great chord progression. The guitar fill in the chorus right after ....."awful truth"....sounds very Townshend-esque.

I remember hearing this song for the first time while driving from Seattle to Portland on I-5 a couple years ago on a foggy afternoon. The only BOC songs the local classic rock station normally plays are "Burning for you," "Godzilla," or "Don't Fear the Reaper." In this case though someone made a special request for this song. I'd never heard it before and my radio had bad reception. I couldn't hear the lyrics but they sounded like a choral area powered by a kicking riff. Still, I was hooked.

BOC story (second hand) - My buddy played in a B-list band about 20 years ago and met Buck Dharma backstage at a festival that he (my friend) was playing, which BOC headlined. My friend said that Buck was a nice, down to earth guy, and so he asked if they could play this song, since it was a favorite of his. Buck said 'Well, it's not on the list, but I'll see.' Later, when BOC did their set, he dedicated 'E.T.I.' to my friend, and they played it - :-)
