  • Perfect. I'd sell my soul to see this :(

  • @DanishCats "the easiest way to sell your soul is carry on believing that we don't exist" - Thom Yorke <3

  • Dope.

  • !! yes !! wonderful thanks

  • WHEN? WHERE!??!???

  • Come on . Only a creep can dislike that video

  • @zippo21021

    or a loser :)

  • why am i finding this just now :(

    so much time wasted

  • @supperunknown

    JUST ENJOY THE NOW;DDDDDD

  • ah man :S the solo aint as good as the original. poor drumming too.

  • always great to see real musicians pay homage to the velvet underground...the greatest band of all time

  • @MrGrieves1000 lol velvet is good but greatest band of all time? nah

  • @oogaboogan in my opinion they're the best band ever. The Beatles and the Stones didn't come close to what the VU did (don't take this the wrong way, I love them too). I don't think they'd have the guts. and if not the best, I'd certainly say the most influential.

  • Thom yorke with Beck, Thom yorke expressing his like for Wolfmother, My favorite singer from my favorite band talking and singing with 2 musicians of my favorite top 5 musicians. *explodes*

  • This is neat I love when my music all joins like a big circle, it feels less empty.

  • when i found this, I almost peed myself.

  • two of my favorite songwriters on the same stage covering a song from another one of my favorite bands? thats like spider man, the hulk, and x-men starring in the same film!

  • wow this can't get any better!!! 2 of my favs mixed with an oldie fav of mine!

  • WOAHHHH.

  • What a sight to see

  • MY GOD!!! I just searched for Beck and Radiohead to find something, anything, with them both on. I NEVER thought I would actually find something!!! :D

  • OH MY GOD! They played together! You would think that if one of the 2 most awesome artists combined the earth would implode!

  • @ylezor They actually toured together. You can still find the gig posters that have both Radiohead and Beck on them.

  • WHY HAVENT I HEARD THIS BEFORE NOW???

    *explode*

  • For my best pal Kris who has been gone 8 years today.

    Happy Summer solstice Kris

  • Well it doesn't surprise me but I just never knew it happened.

It makes sense though because I'm pretty sure Beck opened for Radiohead on the In Rainbows tour.

  • good cover!

  • they should make an album together.

  • i was thinking about how good a Yorke/DJ Shadow album would be but Beck/Radiohead would be nuts too

  • bellissima!!! has anyone found it on video too??

  • SHIT THOM

  • lol

  • you know another great combination of music is this: Bob Dylan's 'It's all over now baby blue," was covered by Them, and Them's music for 'Baby Blue" was used by Beck for "Jackass" off of Odelay. (Then again you probly knew that) cool though!

  • Absolutely great except the solo needs to be trippyer

  • holy shit Thom Yorke AND Beck? covering a velvet underground song? i just came

  • @dsotm13 I just found this...

  • sweet god.. wish i could of seen this live....

  • Jesus, how have I not heard of this???

  • When was this? 2002?

  • Thom, Beck and the Velvet Underground...doesn't get much better

  • All U people are talking about Beck & Radiohead. Let us not forget the third star of this production is Mr Lou Reed and the Velvets, this combo makes for an ultimate cover in my books. Pure talent all the way around. Thanks for the post!

  • two amazing artists. gahh. amazing.

  • thom looks wicked with a strat

  • yea, it's something you don't see everyday. I think this is the only time Ive seen him with one.

  • Fuck both of my all time favorite artists together fucking epic!!!

  • ooooh YES!!!!

  • beck + radiohead = YES!!!

  • what does the guy say at 0:08

  • Comment removed

  • SHIT DAWG

  • stop!... just enjoy the music... i like Radiohead... and i like Beck... they are just great... forget the raligion or the politic image... they started with Loser/Creep it's to much now... they got they'r change and now they are others... just enjoy the music...

  • Loser wasn't what Beck started with.

Im sure it wasn't what Thom Yorke started with either.

They did shit long before they were stars, I know Beck did. His best stuff is from before he was famous.

  • i agree

  • Goodness.. love the fact that Beck takes that lower Lou Reed range... and that Yorke lends amazingness to this...

    just great

  • i would say christianity is as wacky as scientology or any other religion. the bigger the lie the easier it is for folk to accept it...the only reason we don't see christians as a brainwashed herd is because they have been around for a long time now. so don't judge anybody regarding any religion it's all bs.

  • you don't see christians as a brainwashed herd?

  • Most certainly do. But what does it matter? At the moment we're living in a reality were religion plays a prominent role politically, socially and what not for good or ill. Sometime from now we will leave all of this behind and turn to science, which is more tangibly rewarding than any faith. But yeah, brainwashed herd...

  • Funny... the whole "religion being left behind" argument has been floating about for centuries... yet never happens.

But it's the Christians who are brainwashed, right?

  • scientology is just another cult...it's overtly based on money, ego, and control. "the herd" are the ones that follow men instead of God. studying the bible on your own will innoculate you against all variety of brainwashing.

  • I like ''Where it's at''.

  • ...apart from Roman political propaganda

  • Lolol! Irony much!?

  • what do ya mean?

  • 2nd hand sources discussing "other people's lives" re: gossip! being considered accurate and reliable is just trash talk. Beck's family-parents-grandfather were into all kinds of subversive/avante-garde/psychedelic "out there" stuff in the 60's and 70's, but above and beyond all their crazy escapades(and there were many!) They have proven themselves as individuals to be incredibly creative, peaceful, inventive, talented as heck and totally fascinating. Beck/York and the Velvets=awesomeness

  • OMG i'm going to die with this song :l

  • It's a shame the two have bad blood now. They could've done some amazing stuff together.

  • Where did you hear the 'bad blood' nonsense..sounds like bullshit to me.

  • Both Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich (the producer, in case you didn't know) have both stated that Beck pushed Scientology on them. I actually read it from a Radiohead fan site as an official release from Yorke that Beck had been pushing it and that he didn't appreciate it.

I can assure you it isn't nonsense. I don't talk out of my ass just to hear myself talk. Just search "Beck Thom Yorke Scientology" in google.

Do some research before you call someone out, pal.

    He called Beck Mr. Scientology.

  • that sux!

i hate people shovin their faiths down my throat myself, but i would not try to disassociate myself from them and would just take it as a difference we could calmly talk about...a good intelligent conversation...but still not distance myself

but i wasnt there, and mite not now the exact details of how it all went down...and prolly shouldnt pass judgment myself

so for now, that quite honestly is sad news!

  • I hear ya man. It is a shame.

I can't judge Mr. Hansen, though. Scientologists are taught to recruit new members by all means necessary. Like you said, we don't know the situation, but I can't blame Beck. He's just doing what he's been taught to do since he was a small child (If, of course, that was the case).

All I can say to the haters out there is, don't hate what you don't know! Just because he believes something different from you, that doesn't make him a bad person.

  • yeah i agree with u, that is true, no matter how wacky we think his religion mite be, he has his own faith and is adamant on it...and after all, all religions have many aspects that quite honestly seem farfetched...but thats a different conversation

what i wanted to also say is that, i am a huge radiohead fan, very much so, but thom at times is very pretentious and a bit haughty. he is arrogant and at times this makes him very delicate to socialize with...again based on wat ive read in mags

  • Yeah I've heard that too. Thom's an incredible musician and songwriter, but not much of a social butterfly.

  • Not to say Thom, many artists are not sociable.

if they were sociable, they would not be an artist.

Man, don't you think that there are always some reasons for us not to be sociable?

  • actually, they've recently been on pretty good terms I think...haha, perhaps...

  • @nick4man3

I don't think there's been any "bad blood" between Radiohead and Beck. Yes, they did mention that Beck tried to get them into scientology, but it sounded like they just shrugged it off and that was all. Mr. Scientology nickname was not meant to offend, I'm sure it was a joke. Godrich produced 4 of Beck's albums and accompanied him on tour. Radiohead posted a rather friendly shout out to Beck in their blog a couple of months ago..doesn't look like "bad blood" to me.

  • Like I said 2 comments down from this

I don't think there was ever any legit beef, I think just an unspoken bad blood between the two. Nigel Godrich also stated he was annoyed by Beck's advances to convert him to Scientology, but they've also worked together since that statement was made. As Thom Yorke said, they're all friends until "Mr. Scientology rears his head".

I wasn't there with them so I don't know what the situation was when Thom's statement was made, but it's clearly been resolved.

  • "just an unspoken bad blood between the two"

I just love the way you presume to know about this "bad blood" when it's, umm, unspoken. Great job. Are you a psychic?

  • but what about beck ransacking radiohead's hotel room and blaming it on his 'puppets'?

  • I can't tell if you're joking or not. But seriously, dude, you can't blame the man for his puppets' actions. What can he do? They're puppets!

  • haha yeah the puppet thing was pretty funny, but his intentions were unclear and him having to apologise.. it all seems like a big prank but yeah, always wondered if there was anything more serious underneath

  • ROFL i just watched the video of it - that is fucking hilarious. disregard the previous comment (i thought beck just went in and kicked the shit out of everything and then was like 'it was my puppets')

  • @mightymellow01 hahaha that's almost funnier!

  • Beck and Radiohead performed together last summer at Outside Lands in San Francisco so maybe they patched things up.

  • That's real cool, I didn't know that.

I don't think there was ever any legit beef, I think just an unspoken bad blood between the two. Nigel Godrich also stated he was annoyed by Beck's advances to convert him to Scientology, but they've also worked together since that statement was made.

Regardless, they're all amazing at their craft.

  • they didnt play together. they just played the same festival.

  • same height! :)

  • Thom soloing.

  • their voices sound so good and soft together.

  • for two of my favorite musicians to perform one of my favorite velvet songs ...... is just a miracle

  • my god, this is amazing

  • this is incredible.

  • no known video footage exists of this.

it was sort of impromptu...if memory serves, they were both in tour within 1 night of each other in the same city, so thom went to see Beck's show, and Beck convinced him to do a duet.

Even lesser known that this, is that Thom Yorke soundchecked "Lost Cause" by Beck in Portugal a few years ago, and the few close enough to hear it said it was immaculate sounding.

That might be the rarest bootleg in Radiohead's existence, but it doe exist.

  • wow never heard that about Lost Cause soundcheck. but I think the all time rarest Radiohead bootleg since the early '90s would be their cover of R.E.M.'s "So. Central Rain" from November 1997 in Germany. I'm Set Free I remember was done in LA, spring 2002 for a benefit of a coalition of artists in favor of fairer deals w/ labels. Radiohead members probably got to know Beck around that time because their producer Nigel Godrich was working on Sea Change.

  • "shit thom!"

    hahaha

  • awesome

  • this is awesome

  • when was this?

  • kool
