Trees falling/breaking during Buffalo snow storm Oct 12 2006

it was a pretty freaky out side im a firemen for depew we were on stand by for three days i remenber this one call for power lines down in a back yard when it was on a chain link fence the sky was red pruple green the heat was intense if i didnt move for antheor two seconds i would have had a branch fall on me

I was talking to my fiance when i was listening to the trees falling and one hit the house, matter of fact the side roof where i was sitting in the house. quite scary.

Whenever we had those icestorms in the past that took down trees, it always seemed to happen overnight, and I was never awake for it. I'd just wake up to find trees in my backyard toppled over from so much snow and ice.

That was the eeriest part of this storm... I've never heard anything like this. I'm glad you captured it because I was trying to describe it to people and there really was no way to.
