A lovely song. This version is much more intimate than the one with Sarah. I do love that version as well, but it is a different dynamic. More haunting I suppose. This one, it is just Greg and us. I can see him singing this for someone he once longed for.
i love blue rodeo and both greg and jim are truly beautiful singer song writers its sad that they dont have more recognition for their immense talent :( its a sad reminder of what this world has come to in terms of taste in music
This has long been at the top of my list of "most beautiful songs ever written". I love both versions (Sarah's background vocals are soooo haunting, but this version is so touching in its simplicity). Greg is a true poet...his writing always touches my soul.

I like this acoustic version better than the original.
