LOL They often mistake us locals for tourists and try and reel us in, too. Locals don't hang out in uptown very much as you might guess. Glad you liked your lunch, tho that is a good restaurant.

I grew up in Flagstaff and frequented Sedona for hiking, swimming in the creek and some climbing. It's a beautiful place. Unfortunately, back around the early 90's people decided they would make bank on the area and make everything there a tourist trap. I used to just park and go to Slide rock, Grasshopper point and Red Rock, now they all charge and are too busy, so I stopped going. The pink jeep tours hog up the trails and the tourists are clueless.
That was so funny. I've lived in this area my whole life. We own a shop in uptown, right up the street from where your standing. I love watching tourists come here and loose their minds. Yeah it's a beautiful place. Yeah, the rocks are red. But there is nothing funnier than listening to someone from San Francisco or Wisconsin say "I feel sooo spiritual, I need to go somewhere and chant. Where can I buy crystals?" I mean, this town lives on those people. But COME ON, it's just red rocks. Wahawkah
