You can use the screensaver in Linux by installing it under WINE. Make sure to install the Flash player it asks you to install as well. From there, uninstall GNOME's screensaver thing and install xscreensaver instead. Open the .xscreensaver file and add the line:

wine /path/to/file.scr /s

to the end of the list of commands. I'm not sure if the other dickings around I did have anything to do with this, but as soon as I did this it worked.
