The First Movie (Eternal Songstress) is based on the first Layton prequel-Devil's Flute. Devil's Flute will be out this Autumn.

No its a prequel. Devil's Flute is coming out in Japan, and it will tell the story of how Layton and Luke met.

I was to impatient to wait for the English release so I tried playing the Japanese one anyway. I had to find a translated guide in order to get past the first scene but they didn't have any translation of the dialog.

Now that I found your translation, everything definitely makes more sense!

If you have the time, could you also translate the dialog conversations in between the clips, like when Inspector Chemley talks to Layton? Thank you~

Ohhhh! The Ultimate Finger-pointing. Nice one, Professor Layton. Love the suspence. But OMG, the suspect is none other than Flora who I might thk is an IMPOSTOR! AHHHH!!!! Dressed up by Don Paulo. What is with this guy? Why does he hate Layton so much. He's self-proclaim so what he threw a dart at a random list of other scientists and it just happen to hit Layton's name. Oh, the humanity!

Not exactly. It is said in the characters profiles that despite Layton doesn't know it they were both the students from the same professor (Pr Schreder, the man you see being dead on the floor ^^)

It is no secret that Don Paolo wants to be acknowledged as the only very genius mysteries solver and sees Layton as a rival but the thing new to me after reading the profiles is that he didn't targeted Layton at random.

He perfectly knew him and his reputation by his master while Layton didn't.

Who killed the old Pr Shreder?......well, since I've now ended the game I know what happennd so I won't spoil and had better try to keep my mouth shut  -_-
