Mate this is honest criticism-You have poor form amd no ballistic power. I am a big fan of the sledge station as part of a circuit/dinosaur traing and I am a Mixed Martial Artist & Military Combatives qualified. Dont waste time putting this crap into your program. Use dumbells or kettlebells. Do standing and kneeling overhead, diagonal and side strikes against a large tyre. For increased grip anf fore arm work have both hands in a close grip at the base of the handle for strikes
i use a 50 pound sledge hammer, hit a tire with it. chopping motion. swing it non stop for 15 minutes.i do 20 reps before alternating. gets boring atlernating back and fort. but also works mental toughness. three times a week. thats about all i do. very good cardio, and strength workout. alos burn the hell out of the hands and forearms.
I do the overhead swing with a 10lb hammer on an old tyre but I feel it more in the wrists and forearms than the lower back. I think this exercise builds good grip strength.

i wouldnt hit a tree stump, it would be bad on the joints. Go with an old tire, they work great
