Well you can consider the current regime a constiutional monarchy (with a few Islamic amendments to the constitution).

Britain and Spain don't overthrow their monarchies due to a "if its no causing trouble, let it be" mentality. But to go to the trouble of actually bringing about a monarchy that doesn't exist is rediculas.
