I thought the game was quite satisfying. The marine campaign was basically a cross between quake and Doom 3 campaigns. The controls were simple and it was scary, and u eventually felt like a badass. Alien campaign, yes, short. But, it was fun none the less because of the stealth and brutal fights. It was kind of hard to control but once i got used to it, really not so bad. Predator of course was my favorite, and was like the aliens game, but with more stealth, and planning and longer.
IMO this review was more or less right. The first 2 levels of the marine campaign are genuinely terrifying (more so than Dead Space I thought) but once you get into wide open spaces later on the aliens are far too easy to kill. The weapons are great however, very satisfying! The alien campaign is great except for the tricky at times controls and its quite short. The predator campaign is also great except it limits your laser related weaponry a bit too much. IMO, 7 out of 10 :)

This game is NOT that bad. Sure, the controls don't work all that well the time, but how can you dis it for something like that. Yeah the campaigns are short (and could have been fixed if they had just made some DLC campaigns) and its takes awhile to master, but its still fun. I've only played the demo and it was really fun. I'll be picking this up when I get the money.

well if they really make Starcraft fps then the designer must have a mission where you can drive a starship, tank, and other mechanic robot. It would take more than 2 years to put all of those stuff into an FPS game for three huge campaign. Yeah it would be great if they do that, but this game is similar enough to Starcraft FPS for now.

Its weird how critics and players can have very different opinion on a game.When avp came out in the UK it became one of the best selling games.Same happend in other countries.I guess there is something about it that people love.This game isnt perfect but if still a great game for AvP fans.

I think the graphics in AvP are pretty damn good. Yea it looks wierd when they're talking but who gives a fuck about that. When I grab someone the animation just flows so smoothly. It looks great as I watch Alien pull a marine closer to him while shoving his tail through his stomach, or when Predator uppercuts the head off a marine. God damn it looks great. Did I mention that the graphics are great?
at least rebellion has set up a sequel in the end sure that shows cockiness but it also shows that a sequel is planned and the 2nd game may fix these problems and make the avp classic that we've been waiting for.

i love this game but i wouldnt had minded if they delayed the game a little further to make it look better , feel better , and add more multiplayer maps

The guy's right about everything. This game is a sloppy fuckin' mess. The only thing I didn't agree with was his comment on the Alien controls. I mastered them, and was as close to being a Xenomorph as one can be in this game. Nearly untouchable. But, that doesn't make this game any better. It's an awful pile of horse shit. I wanna like it, I love playing the Alien but, this game just sucks. No way I can enjoy it.

i understand a review of a hardware component or something....but,for me at least, a review of a game it's totally useless. i dont need some freaking opinion to tell me if a game is agood or not and what to like and dislike...i think that if someone puts more value in someone else opinion rather it's own and he/she lets them influence it it's nothing more than a useless,no-lifer, mindless sheep...and btw this review is 80% wrong. its not COD or counter-strike u know?

I'm so glad I got this before I watched this review. Also how come gamespot limits themselves to pretty much only xbox/ps3 gameplay? I have to for the PC and constintaly had a blast! I didn't really care for any of the marines though. I'd give it at least an 8/10. It's not perfect, but nothing is.

i loved this game. i mean sure there are some small issues, but nothing near as many as they say and it doesn't affect how much fun you have etc. the only things i agree with are that the gory stealth kills and trophy kills are perhaps the best parts and that there is great voice acting. but apart from that they are talking so much crap

@CrittersRule247 nope, i think so too. aliens are probably my favorite to play as even though im huge predator fan. and i got scared by the reviews so i didnt buy this game until 3 weeks ago and its a really good game! i played the demo and enjoyed and i shouldnt have listened to them =( even my friends who play it think its pretty good and they are not even fans of any of the series. they think the reviews are to harsh

I can`t believe ive heard so much bullshit from a reviewer like now. This game is fucking awesome, and i play it since last august, and its far beyond the first avp. Man !! These reviewers are totally insane, they clearly dont have the guts, or the ability to pick up a unique game, to do some training , to understand its goal, and then to make a good review for us. they are based on more realistic themes junky one! like war, you control a man with a gun you idiot not aliens who can leap from wall to wall, stalk preys, use melee combat, it takes time to master the controls (probably much more than wt our dearly reviewer spent). i play well with the 3 species, i took me some time. THE ONLY SUCKING THING IN THIS GAME IS THAT IT`S single player mode is too short. so online matches are essential!

Its weird how critics and players can have very different opinion on a game.When avp came out in the UK it became one of the best selling games.Same happend in other countries.I guess there is something about it that people love.This game isnt perfect but if still a great game for AvP fans.

I think the graphics in AvP are pretty damn good. Yea it looks wierd when they're talking but who gives a fuck about that. When I grab someone the animation just flows so smoothly. It looks great as I watch Alien pull a marine closer to him while shoving his tail through his stomach, or when Predator uppercuts the head off a marine. God damn it looks great. Did I mention that the graphics are great?

at least rebellion has set up a sequel in the end sure that shows cockiness but it also shows that a sequel is planned and the 2nd game may fix these problems and make the avp classic that we've been waiting for.
