Bakkies is a great player but Matfield has to be the best lock in world rugby. South Africa are spoilt for locks at the moment. The All Blacks could do with some quality locks. Ali Williams and Brad Thorn are good, but Matfield and Botha are in a class of their own.

Bakkies is a great player but Matfield has to be the best lock in world rugby. South Africa are spoilt for locks at the moment. The All Blacks could do with some quality locks. Ali Williams and Brad Thorn are good, but Matfield and Botha are in a class of their own.
Should be interesting to see whether the Boks can keep their form until the next world cup. 1 week is a long time in sports let alone 2 years, but at the end of the day I would rather be in their shoes

I believe this video is less than complimentary to Bakkies as it does show some cheap shots. Having said that I believe Bakkies is pretty clean now and absolutely vital to the Boks. When Bakkies does not play the Bok forwards appear to be pretty ordinary and toothless (3rd Lions test as proof). I believe at least 25% of the Bok's recent success is due to him. I hope he plays until he is 40!

notice most of this video isnt like any ordinary tribute, like showing great tries, tackles and great play. No, it's all shots of Bakkies Botha giving out cheap shots. He's a world class player, but a true thug. I would love to see him get his head kicked in one day. Notice aswel he always picks on smaller guys. I'd love to see what he'd do if someone like Chabal, Shaw, or Ali Williams stood up to him, then we'd really see how much of a tough guy he is, as he likes to think of himself as.
