  • @rntcar how is it? :S i dont get it

  • @rntcar Wasn't Jesus a Jew?

  • U MUST BE JOKING 8-D

  • that's stupid.. the letter ע (A'ain) is not A it's AA.... also with ח but that's less common in modern hebrew

  • no much diffrents between aramaic and hebrew.

  • Thanks for producing this video - the words chosen are a useful refresher, although the music is not too much to my taste- must be a generational thing.

  • Thank you. These words are the first that came to my mind when I made this and I love the song especially since it promotes learning Hebrew :)

  • But still the song is very catchy. There's nothing wrong with having universal appeal. My daughters are struggling to learn hebrew now.

  • That 's great . Tell them Shalom from me :)

  • Oops deleted your last message by mistake. Just wanted to say I have not been very active here lately but I always read and see messages. I will try to be more active :)

  • catchy little tune,it's got me taping my toe

  • ו' (the 6 letter)= O/U

  • This is tough but I can do it

  • ok lol

  • OMG!!! luv dis song

  • is this insalting?

  • No, there is nothing insulting about this.

  • well the letters seems to be easy..but how do u guys write them..they look more like weird drawings!!..:(

  • We use printed letters, less work....

but its easy....If u want help send me PM

  • please visit my channel and if you gind it interesting and importanat (also the written part) please share it also with others too, so we can fight the false arab propaganda. thanks a lot :-) bye from Israel

  • Is this correct translation please?

    from right-to-left, of course):

    Qof-Daled-Shin Lamed-Yod Yod-Hay-Vav-Hay

    K-d-sh L'y Y-h-v-h

    "Kadosh L' Adonai"

where Kdsh is the root for "holy", "holiness", or "sanctification" etc. and

"YHVH" is the Holy Name of God, which in Jewish tradition is never spoken but

    is pronounced as "Adonai" ("Lord").

  • lol, sooo cool~

ivrit kasha safa~ ha ha ha~

  • Ivrit safa kasha

  • please help me..what is the difference between ALEPH and AYIN....they start with A...but how you prononce them?

  • Both are silent depending on the vowel marking. In ancient Hebrew there are marks below either aleph or ayin which tell you. Many times, these letters are at the beginning of a word because of the way Hebrew is written and if the word starts with a vowel, these are used. However, it is irregular in the sense that at times a word has an aleph and at other times an ayin and has to be memorized. Does this make sense? I hope so.

  • Ayin is a harder sound in a way. I would say it's closer to e than aleph.

  • Exactly! Well said.....I didn't think of it really, but now that I think of some words..makes sense.

  • I realy love this little song. This vid is very well done as well.

  • very similar to Arabic alphabet. and the vocabulary is mostly the same.

  • not quite :p

  • does it disturb you if they are similar? Arabic letters are indeed very similar and the vocabulary too.

  • nope. I don't care if they were similar. But they aren't. Check it out.

  • ok, lets say they are smiler, what do you want to say exactly?

  • I guess it's not an coincidence you mentioned arabic alphabet.

But I am glag you did, because we can see who wants to start fight.

  • what kind of fight? it seems that the only language you understand is fighting. I was making a comment that the languages are related; the sound of the letters are very very similar; to the extent that you can call them to be the same. the vocabulary provided in the video can be found in Arabic with similar meanings such as house: bayt, or bait. camel (camal or gamal), etc.

why are you reacting very strongly to my comment.

  • Hebrew: Shalom Aleichem

    Arabic: Salaam Alaikem

    Peace be upon you :-)

  • You too.

  • Who does the music on this video? You should give them credit.

  • If you look at the information about the video, I have given credit to the musician and the song. Ehud Banai - Hebrewman.

  • This song is fucking awsome!

  • Thanks! really good video

  • how do pronounce eli in hebrew

  • eh lee

  • the same

    Eli=אלי

    its pronounced exactly the same

  • That's awesome!! That'll add to my vocabulary:)

  • Thank you very much for this video

    I try to learn

  • the first 2 letters sound like first 2 letters of the Arabic alphabet, it was the language of HEBREW prophets before the Muslim prophet Mohammed..bbproductionsLA

  • Hebrew - alef; Arabic - alif.

Hebrew - bet; Arabic - ba'.

    this sounds different.

anyway, Hebrew and Arabic are very similar language, like English-French-German, et cetera

  • That is right, that's what i've noticed of the video.

  • Hi nice video :d

    kisses fron sefarad :D

descendiente de judios de la edad media :P

  • the first two letters are like the same as the first two letters in the Arabic alphabet. I should learn Hebrew because it was the language of the Muslim prophets before Mohammed.....

  • U asshole, u talkin' like u have a PH.D in languages.

Arabic and hebrew come both from arameen (dead language). they are cousin languages.

there is no version of another, and both are beautiful languages.

when u don't know SHUT UP plz

  • Yeah, I agree.

  • Shalom!

I enjoyed your site and hope to learn more of the beautiful ancient language. Such activity is an instrument of peace as it reiterates that we're all made from the same fiber "adam" = man ;)

    with ahava, adelcopt

    To-Da

  • sounds very similar to arabic, alif, bah etc.

  • And to Aramaic also, alap, bet...

  • Wow! Thanks!

  • I love it! Thank you Ilanushkah! love, Loretta

  • Thanks!

I've studied the greek alphabet, but I forgot almost everything due to lack of practise. I believe this would be the same in Hebrew.

On "Wikibooks", there is a book on Hebrew:

    tinyurl . com / 2kda4s

Maybe it can help you if you plan to do more on this topic. In special, i'd be interested in listening to the pronounciation of the words written. But you're doinng a good job by explaining the letters by english words.

    Thanks. :-)

  • Thanks Tap I'll check it out. Next time maybe I record myself pronouncing the words.

  • That is good video. I like your idea.

    Well done.
