  • Dude what amp are you using? Sick tone!

  • @dachachamonk Thanx Man.. The guitar tone that used on this vid is 100% Line 6 POD X3.. The tone is a Dual Tone that I made with the help of a Dude I met here on Youtube.. My half of the tone sounded like a typlical Metallica-style sound and he sent me a really good Meshuggah-style tone that he made which is almost dead on IMO.. I basically just blended the two tones and wound up with what's on the vid.. Thanx for the comment Dude.. Later..

  • how bout you try Lethargica?

  • @Andrew65664 That would be a good one to do.. It's been forever since I put anything on here so I need to get something together soon if I can.. Later Dude..

  • Fab cover man...

  • @deathmetal683 Thanx Man..

  • RAGE!

  • what string gauges? they look TIGHT!

  • @skalla1000 @bone777 I think those were a set of D'Adario 9-42 gauge, plus a 52 or 54 for the low B string and a 74 for the low F.. I think for me that works pretty good.. The strings aren't flapping all over the place but they're not too tight either.. There was a Dude on here before that told me he was gonna put an 80 gauge on his RG2228..lol.. That would be crazy.. Later Dude..

  • @bone777 hm.. imo 74 is too thin/ too low tension for F, but it's a matter of taste I guess, I use 80 now, I tune it in E though and I get even tension with my 10-46 + 60 + 80 that way... I know for a fact meshuggah use 0.009-0.070 dunlop strings though.. but as I said, a matter of taste I suppose!

  • @skalla1000 I agree.. To be honest I would rather use an .80 for my low F but it won't fit on my RG2228 unless u unwind the string so it will fit in the slot up where the lock-nuts are.. Otherwise it's too damn thick..lol.. I think its that way on all RG2228's.. I'd say that one reason for Meshuggah using .70 for their low F is because their 8-strings are 30" scale which seems like it would make the tension tighter, so the .70 would be tight enough.. But that' a guess..lol.. Later..

  • @bone777 I have a lot of troubles with picking fast/some sort of tremolo/ 16th notes or whatever on floppy strings, they kinda.. get stuck in the pick if you know what I mean.. got any tips/tricks to practice it or atleast make it better?

  • @skalla1000 If it were me the first thing I'd do is get some thicker strings.I remember being on a regular 6-string trying to tune it to low B or A and if u are using a set of .009-.042 strings forget about it.It's almost impossible when u tune that low.I always used at least a .054 for the low string. It seems like that done good with low A or B stuff. That's about the best advice I can give besides buying a guitar with a longer neck scale.Hope that will help.. Later Dude..

  • @bone777 Tips for playing fast/faster??? Well, if u can get ur string problem fixed, then I will tell the best thing I ever knew to practice picking fast....... Master Of Puppets..lol.. In particular the song rather than the album, but playing along with the whole album is great practice too.. Just remember to try and down pick as much as possible and let Hetfield show u the way..lol.. You'd be surprised at how much u can improve after 2-3 days jamming on that.. Later Dude..

  • How well does the Line 6 AX do for high gain Death Metal? Just saw one for a great price.

  • Out of the billions of times I've heard this song, I always get those chills at 3:22. And you succeeded. Lovely playing. Props to you, my friend.

  • Good cover, but the guitar is way too bassy D:

  • Kick fucking ass!

  • (((_{-_-}_))) the first time i ever saw a 8 stringer, wow weee! asskick'n killer heavy death metal guitar undoubtedly !!!

  • I've been wanting to tune my 8 to standard 8 tuning ( F# B E A D G B E) a semi tone higher to make G B# F A# D# G# B# F, I find the low F or F# too low for me, what do you think? I got the idea from Devin Townsend, as he tunes seven strings to GCGCGEC, which is one big G 5th chord, but I don't know how to play in that tuning so I though I'd steal the bottom 6 from his 7, and tune my 8 up 1 semi tone to get G, then the rest of the guitar :P

  • Tuning?

  • yes gotta love meshuggah! .. check out my videos i play a 8 string as well

  • i love how easy 8 strings make life

  • @jarviseatsbrains ya love 8 strings take a quick second to get used to but once you do there heaven

  • fvking epic! great job, thx for the post.

  • nice video!

  • Great job man!!

  • nice but turn down the audio track, cant hear shit.

  • woah. am i nuts or does this sound BETTER than just the album?! totally sick dude! youre kickin major ass now. great playing, and the song sounds so full now. the whole ending segment sounded explosive! no joke. 3:44 on to the end and just the whole damned thing sounds so good now. to be honest, i kinda think meshuggah majorly dropped the ball with the tone of this album. no djent on the guitars like they had on Nothing and C33, and the bass is just shit sounding... but now its sick! thanks man!

  • How difficult to play is it comparatively?

  • O.o fuckin bad ass mother fucker awesome..

  • @bluebunny61 Thanx..

  • pure awesomeness

  • epic...

  • awesome dude!!!

  • @throatguitar Thanx..

  • AWESOME! fucking heavy, well done as usual. should do Perpetual Black Second :D

  • @HCXanithon Thanx Dude.. That's a good idea on doing PBS.. That might be next..
