To answer your question, most of the all time greats, you can get close but bumping into your opponent twice to purposely push him off the grass is totally different from fighting to keep your position, he was on the bump strip already, but skaife pushed it too far, skaife lost the race, and rightly so.

from what i could see Russel was only on the grass for a split second....there was no reason for him to take out the holden. Skaife gave him heaps of room whilst still keeping himself from oversteering through the turn. if anything skaife should have veered a little to the right as they both hit the straight.

technically skaife has done a clean overtake. russel has been a bad sport about it and raged at him for it. skaife may have had a little understeer which is why they went so far over but russel has come back in and shunted skaife cause hes a bad sport
