Hey folks, I can't believe this has been uploaded.
I wrote the music to this game back in 1990, it was my first gig as a games composer back when I was just a wee 17 yr old. They paid me £350 and 2 copies of the game!
It was written on Noisetracker and now I cringe at a few of the not-quite-in-tune samples, but at the time there wasn't any way of tuning them.
Suffice to say I still score games, we started a little FB page a few months ago, come say hello, look up Bob and Barn on Facebook!
This game was so advanced for its time. There was a ton of tricks it utilised - high sprite counts, background disk loading, over-scaning. And the intro was just awesome :-)
Fuck High Definition 1080P... The Amiga made sure the future was then... The graphics was awesome, perfect animation to match, and out of the world music that can't even be matched today...... When Amiga stopped, to me that was the end of the world.... no technology today is worth shit.......
@ZroDfects Yes when Commodore went bankrupt i think i probably turned pale white upon hearing the news :( As with you, computing died for me when the Amiga died. I tried to relive it through the PC and although there "were" some great experiences with it, i just couldn't feel the same about it, something else other than Commodore had died.
@blade004 .... I know what you mean, I have had a PC for years and with most still do and a laptop, I also own an xbox360, PS3, Wii and PSP and as much fun as they are they will never be as fun as what the Amiga was... I played the Amiga night and day without fail...... I play Amiga on an emulator on the PC, and they play on the PSP too, so I can still enjoy the Amiga anytime :)...
Sounds like a factory level in a platform game. Amiga music have great drums&bass giving power to the song. Too bad i never put my hands on a amiga :'(
still playing this EPIC ONE,on my 12 year old amiga 500+ pro ( 2mb chipram,8mb fastram,28mhz turbocard) !!!!!4 disk-drives,880kb,and about 1200 diskettes.
@poopdungeon You probably wanted to say that Firepower 2000 title screen looked exactly like the SWIV's, which is not strange since Firepower 2000 was sort of a SWIV port/sequel for SNES (where it was also called Super SWIV) and Sega Genesis (where it went by the name Mega SWIV). The game on consoles got more of the coin-op arcade feel in both graphics and gameplay, but I still prefer the original Amiga version!
this game must be beta, because of all of its stuff. It doesnt have That Good Graphics, and Its pretty much Beta. After This, They Probaly made Mega Swiv, Because of its Terrible Sounds. they Knew That, And They Decided To M/ake Super Swiv, For Super Nitendo. It had Bad Sounds Still, But it Was better than nothing. they decided to make one more, Firepower 2000. It wasent For Snes, It was for Something Different, I think Nitendo 64? Probaly That. I dont know. im just Guessing Right now.
Some of the best music on the amiga for sure...superbly dark intro and some great sample sequencing thrown in there....except where the musician goes nuts at 2:10 and it goes completely tuneless! Don't know what he was thinking there?! Apart from that yes, it's deffo one of the best game intro tunes. Anyone know who the musician was, Alistair Brimble maybe, sounds a little like him?
Hi. The guys name was Andrew Barnabas. His Amiga handle was Nightshade. Check out Global Gladiators and Cool Spot. Shite conversions, but his music always rocked...
@iIIcommunication - hmmm I've tried to like it but have never been able to! lol. The bass and the synth just do not go together during that section, but hey it's a small price to pay for what is otherwise a great track, and it still fills me full of nostalgia when ever I hear it, along with some of the great demo scene music, in particular Nuke from Anarchy. His music was so good, especially what he composed for their 1991 seeing is believing demo.
I have beaten this game on the PC amiga emulator...spend my childhood trying to beat it and I finally did it...after hundreds of plays ( I did it alone, with 3 more lives to go - crazy as hell) once I did that I never played it again
SPOILER proof : bee like bugs in the core room(which is after the *cosmic station like* zone...after you defeat it, you lost your job couse there's no enemies at all - I was laughing as hell:D:D
shame acorn computer didnt keep going; they were fantastic! Did you get them in the US?? Did you get the beeb (BBC microcomputer) either? Dont know how they managed to go out of business.
My Childhood memories. I fantasized this music up today as much as I could remember it for the past 15 years. thank God I can listen to it now for real.
At the start it sounds like the intro music from Kult - Temple of the Flying Saucers.

@Stevieboy74 Maybe he couldn't transpose that sample right to the pitch of the track but won't let it out. If you ask me - I kinda like it.
