That looks sick man! I love it. Im thinking about painting a guitar body just like you did here, but i dont know what type of colors i should use on the guitar. Would be great if you let me know! Thanks :)
@GatesGuitar first of all, thank you for watching! >) actually I used normal red (lacquer paint). what I suggest you is that you ask to the paint seller (whatever is called hehe) what kind of red would be good to emulate blood. but another way to get it is by simply mixing red and a tiny bit of black until you get the desire color. just be careful to not add too much black. good luck with your proyect!! >) if you have any more questions, just let me know. >)
This is the first example of a guitar being painted in a way that creates a bumpy surface that I have ever come across. 99% of people seem to avoid such techniques. I've been pondering ways to do similar art work on a guitar body while retaining a fairly smooth surface myself, and I'm thinking paint markers.
Were there any problems with the clear coating afterwards?
@MitchellC not at all. after I did the artwork, I applied very thick layers of polyurethane on the guitar body, so the art was absolutely protected and unremovable.
Instead of taking it all apart why dust you just put masking tape in the pick guard and stuff you didn't want red and white and take it off whenever your done.
@DarkZ41126 i don't know what kind of experience you have painting guitars but i have some experience doing this, and that's not the best way to do it especially if you want a clean work. also because i didn't apply the white color. someone else did it, i was just hired to do the red part. i guess no one else wanted to take the risk to do that part.
@kid123454 i only use normal paint. i mean, i just went to a paint supply store, or something like that, and asked for the best kind of paint for this kind of surface. they gave me a really good advice, the problem is that I don't know what is the name of the kind of paint that i used in english. (i don't kow how it's called in english). in spanish is something like: pintura laca. good luck!

I am gonna do this to a guitar, but was wondering. Did you paint the guitar white? If so is just primer or did you use regular white spray paint?
BARTCORExxx 7 months ago
@BARTCORExxx actually i didn't do that work. but i know that the guy who made it used primer. then i used red lacquer paint.
