Claude Smith wrote a (much better) piece for the US Air ForceBand (Washington D.C.) called "Flight." Whose is this, and how can the composer use the same title?
You cannot copyright titles (or chord changes, for that matter). Just think, there are least three Casino Royale's out there! (two movies, one television show). I love Claude Smith's music, what a great man...
Rick DeJonge is his name. Wonderful composer and a great friend of the AF and Boston Brass. Yes, Claude Smith wrote some wonderful music too. (Though the trio to Flight isn't my favorite part of that piece - I don't conduct it very much because of that)
