Like someone already mentioned, depeneds on the person not the character. I've seen kuma players own law/steve/asuka players alot lately.
Whats better ps3 or 360? motorbike or car? Vagina or ass? It's up to fucking you. If a monkey was forced to play 1 million chess games, it would beat a novice human for sure.
wtf are you all talking about?! in tekken there are no bad characters. just bad players. dont blame the characters for the players lack of skill to defeat the opponent.
ALL characters in Tekken 6 are well balanced. It's up to the player on how he or she will be able to utilize the pros and cons of a certain character nuff said X(
Stretchypants 123 obvious knows nothing about fighters on a technical level? T4 Jin not being that good and T6 Jin being top? Please share w/e it is you're smoking. And feeling accomlished? About what? xchaosx97 as he was saying merely provided facts since we do have actual data (frame data) and history. I hate when people who know nothing about the mechanics of fighters talk about it as if they do and then when proven wrong claim the other person is being elitist or ignorant. So annoying.
He was one of the better characters in just Tekken 6. In BR however, he got nerfed. Larger combo scaling ruined his damage out put, and he has less good launchers. He is better off just playing completely defensively and poking with his decent mids. If you want a top tier character, try Steve. Jin is mid/top mid at best.
Some of you people depend to much on top tier characters >.> like you can't win with a mid or low tier character. Players make up tiers list not the game.
That's just a theory... just talk. It's obvious that Jin is one of the best characters in Tekken 6 because he can simply juggle half your life away and even more in a wall or corner. In most videos that I've watched, Jin whooped Steve by his juggles. You could say that in Tekken 4 or 5, that would be true, but I think Jin has come a long way in Tekken 6 to be "put-down" as a mid-high tier. That's an understatement.
No. His juggles do weak damage in this game compared to regular T6. Sub-par even. He does deal high damage in walls, but not in normal juggles, not even close. Also, Jin was god in Tekken 4, so I don't know what you're talking about there. mid-high is nowhere near an understatement, in fact it's an overstatement.
If you have to "tone" down a character just to make it fair to the other players, then you know that character is bad-ass. Even toned down, I'd say Jin has plenty of potential to kick-ass even in mid-tier stage. I mean really, in T6 BR, the character's tier level shouldn't matter, whereas skill does, e.g. Kuma owning against Jin. So look, they had to "tone" Jin down twice in the Tekken series just so that he doesn't kill everyone. What does that tell you about his potential?
You're missing the point. The fact that they nerfed him just means that he was too good before. This "potential" of his is nonexistent if nerfs took it away. Skill does not have to do with what I'm talking about either, because I was just saying he's not high/top tier in this game. You changing the subject jsut shows that I'm right
I can accept that he's mid-tier. That's not what bothers me though. What bothers me is your self-appreciation of the fact that you proved your point, I'll bet that you feel pretty accomplished by proving your point don't you? So tell me, does winning this argument change the fact Jin can still defeat any other high-tier character? See OurSavior92's comment for more clairity.
The fact that Jin can still win against a high-tier doesn't concern me. I'm just pointing out you were wrong about the tiers. Also, you saying I feel "accomplished" just means you're out of things to prove. I'm just trying to explain a fact here. If you have to look for other ways to talk back when I've already explained everything, then you're really the one who wants the last word. I won't be responding anymore after this, cause my point has already been made.
You haven't answered my question. Do you feel accomplished that you would have to trample against someone else's beliefs and put your belief over another person's beliefs for your own satisfaction? And no, you didn't explain anything except for your own sheer ignorance. What fact are you trying to explain? There is no such-thing as a tier-level other than the fact that some characters have better chances of winning against others. That is what you do not understand. You can have the last word.
*roundhouse hooks you to the face! Don't turn your back on me. That's what you get for being a dickhead. So much for arguing, it only breeds up more arguing. As far as I'm concerned, I had nothing to prove. YOU were the one who HAD to come up to me and say something like you had something to "prove."
Since when did me saying "Jin isn't top tier" count as starting an argument? These are not "beliefs". they are proven facts based on tests and pro player opinions. The only ignorant one here is you for continuing to argue and resorting to insults because you have no idea what you are even talking about. Just keep convincing yourself that whatever you say is right, I'm seriously done trying to spoon feed information into your stubborn mind.
Well look who replied here... I'll tell you everything that I know, I was minding my own business watching this video and admiring the fact that Jin is a really good character. So I wanted to comment subjectively: "Jin is a top tier character"
You had to take it in as an objective statement and thought I literally meant that and therefore you tried to correct me by saying: "No, he's not" That's where the argument began.
You do know that I wasn't even talking to you right?
I'm just saying that Jin can easily own them too even though they are top-tier characters. Tier levels are overrated. You know what? I'm just going to stop talking to a bunch of people who over-emphasizes top-tier levels in videogames. It's so overrated.
I have better things to do in life than waste my time talking about top-tier levels. Since not all-top tier level characters win T6 tournaments.
Any character can win... that is what makes tekken 6 so great. But arguing that tiers do not matter is just plain stupid on your part. People win with low tier characters in many games at high level play. That does not mean that the character is good that means the player is.

Jin is not a high tier character...
But then again, tier sucks, it's very subjective...
One day Lars was a top tier, then the next week he dropped to A...
If Knee haven't rocked the world of tekken with Bryan, Bryan wouldn't even be on B+ Tier...
I've seen many Zafina trash down pro Steves and yet Zafina is on the bottom Tier..
Tier sucks, honestly..

you do realize jin was a whole tier above everyone else in tekken 4 right?
The tiers for this game are

Those are the best characters.
