The education these kids are receiving is exactly that, they are being informed about the true nature of society. I would have absolutely no problem with schools educating children about the existence of nudist colonies: books may not be the best learning tool in that case for obvious reasons, but why on Earth would you not tell a child about the existence of people who don't wear clothes?

@usagora How is it obviously abnormal behaviour? Do you mean that in a psychological sense or do you just feel it's abnormal because you aren't homosexual, so it's not normal to you? This book is telling children that gay people exist, you have every right to tell your child that homosexuality is wrong, even to deny that homosexual people exist if you want, but the state has a duty to ensure that children are properly educated about the world around them.

Teaching kids that putting your penis up another man's rectum (that's where shit comes out!!) is behavior that is to be admired is wrong. Wow this is REALLY SAD..... Some people are gay, GET OVER IT! You're not going to make it go away. Some of these kids might realize they're gay by the time they hit puberty... then what are the parents going to do? Tell them "You being gay is unacceptable behaviour".... this is why suicide is so high among LGBT teens. These parents need to be more open-minded and accepting of others differences. Children need to know this information. It's not going to harm them.

Seriously though, homosexuality is becoming so mainstream nowadays that people won't notice it that much anymore. If you actually stopped festering about it, you'll realize that life goes on for you, still, and you'll still be you. You'll still have your beliefs, you'll still be making a paycheck and paying taxes, like the rest of us. The only thing that's different is that you'll probably be invited to a wedding for two girls or two guys, but that won't happen, considering which team you're on.

Oh god, that awful picture book with the picture of the gay people. The point of education is to EDUCATE children about society and the world. The education these kids are receiving is exactly that, they are being informed about the true nature of society. You should be forced to explain to your kids why you believe that gay people are 'not practicing correct behavior'. The schools aren't saying the kids should be gay, just that gays exist.

Tolerance has its limits. Would anyone who says that I am intolerant because I think a certain type of behavior is bad, also allow their child date a confirmed heavy drug user, if not you are being intolerant towards that person. @logicnreason1 There is a difference between sex and sexuality. Everyone has free will to choose whether or not to have sex, but we cannot choose who we are attracted to (sexual orientation). Ex-gays are a fallacy. There is no proof that ex-therapy changes a person's sexual orientation. In fact, many ex-gay therapists even warn that sexual orientation cannot be changed; only the behavior. In other words, the "ex-gay" is still gay, but has simply been trained to repress their feelings.
