  • Ahh it was nice to see Dusty

  • That flake ad got me goin'

  • The trbor mints ad took me right back. Me and my brother Dave used to sing, "Trebor mints are a minty bit stronger-----stick 'em up yer arse and they will last longer."

  • @2:35 Jimmy Page on guitar

  • Awesome

  • great job putting these together. anyone have a commercial for a beer called "E" from the 70's ?

  • i wish that flake was my cock damm

  • i see adverts were just as annoying back then

  • i wish i could have done the Butlins add..... " be miserable and mooch around doing boring stuff with your nan, watch your mum and dad get pissed and fight and then be humiliated as they march the kids out the bar at night just before the stripper comes on.....back to the chalet to listen to nan snoring and farting in a tiny chalet " awesome memories.....

  • They really should make a channel or five of purely 60's stuff(and maybe a couple of channels of fifties stuff?). Just rerun the entire 1960-1969 television, adverts, shows and all. Also, Egg Shampoo? Monorail? ACTION MAN! I miss him, I never had one.Grease Pepsi? Ah, they were such innocent and enviably naive times. I never even saw most of the nineties! Though I hear I didn't miss much............

  • I wish they still had toys in the cereal

  • vintage adds and some of the best vintage tv should be put on one of the hundreds of channels that we have , i reakon it would be one most watched channels. anything would be better than the endless pap we have on at the moment.. hundreds of channels and most of the time its of in my house unless i am watching dvds . TV PRODUCERS

SOME OF YOUR AUDIENCE HAS MORE THAN ONE BRAIN CELL IF WE DON',T HAVE SOME DECENT TV SOON MY CIRCUTS WILL MELT .TINA

  • NO SOUND......

  • Is that Dusty Springfield in the "Mother's Pride" segment?

  • My right ear is jealous of my left.

  • @63cmn LOL I still hate eating a flake in front of anyone! last time I did I was beeped from a passing car! The cheek of it!

  • Fantastic!! From Channel 4's TV Heaven. Great

  • Pepsi advert is so poorly dubbed!

  • Even archaic retail therapy is retail therapy!

  • @wallygator100 So did we and it's still funny

  • The Cornflakes ad is actualy early '80's. The giveaway is the plastic sunglasses.

  • @Feisty1967 yes, I remember hating it back then, it hasn't improved with age

  • whaaa?? Jungle peanus ...is jungle fresh and then u show the cadbury's chocolate stick ad....is that what u brits call a tongue in cheek joke?

  • I never realised how "suggestive" the flake advert was at the time - i was only a nipper then - innocent boy i was...

  • Dusty Springfield delivering bread?

  • Astonishing that they went to such lengths to advertise some shitty peanuts,

  • That flake ad made me howl! The way she is pulling that wrapper back, putting that Huge dark column like chocolate in her mouth then leading that poor unsuspecting horse away. The dirty bitch. LOL

  • Egg shampoo?? Hehe :S

  • More fantastic material that has rightfully been been converted onto disc for posterity: the 'youtube' archive I am compiling has seen hundreds of hours of fascinating footage such as this being cataloged, recorded and filed into my personal library, which is expanding almost daily as new material is screened on youtube. The archive aims to be amongst the largest private media files within the UK.

  • Good to see Butlins again. Great memories from childhood holidays in the 60s.

  • The fish fingers one feels a bit like we're witnessing the beginning of some domestic violence.

  • Was Dennis Waterman desperate for the money?

  • Thanks, do you have the BMK Carpet Judo commertial from the 70`s ?

  • Wow. Tarzan was a jerk!

  • My!! these are old is that Lorraine Chase in the flake ad?

  • this takes me back!!!

    god im old

  • I used to love the Kelloggs cornflake ad! You don't get cornflake ads as good as that these days!

  • Egg shampoo and Horses Radish baths? Some combination that one!

Old Spice- my dad told us one Xmas any more bl--dy Old Spice this year and I'll bath you lot in it! Well he did have 4 daughters and a wife to buy it for him

  • These are fantastic - a great peek into the past!

  • look at the size of the flake !! its like a tree trunk !!

  • @iloveyouhunny : Ooh, Matron!

  • LOL @ the egg shampoo

  • Egg Shampoo?

  • cadburrys flake god that is pure nectar!

  • The Flake ad was . . . uplifting. Talk about sex in advertising! That would never have made it on the air here in the States. (More's the pity.) They get all bent out of shape here when they even say "condom" on TV. I don't care if it makes me look like a total pervert for saying so, but I'd love to see more beautiful women on TV eating candy like they're giving head.

  • @elc1960 If you ate a flake as a male child in the 70's, it was automatically and universally assumed that you were a hom.

  • Blimey, I don't remember Dusty Springfield in the Mothers Pride advert and with only 2 or 3 channels then I should have seen it! I used to use Old Spice, still got a bottle somewhere but never got the horny looking totty despite trying to keep upwind of em :-)

  • Pretty much every one of these commercials make the woman in them look like a wanton. (And no, I didn't say won ton - they don't make them look like little folded up chinese dumplings - well, except for the one commercial.)

  • Brilliant. Love the Pepsi ad :)

  • now those kids are REEALLY flyin round in black helicopters!!

  • my first toy was action man deserter when you opened the box there was nothing there ,well we were poor lol

  • @wellbeing100 LOLOL

  • @wellbeing100 we were so poor a tramp knocked on the door and said `any old clothes` and my mother said `yes please`

  • @unclemort1960 Yeah, I got an air guitar for christmas once.

  • that flake advert is disgraceful. i had to watch it another five times i was so shocked!

(by the way, anyone remember in those days flakes, penguins and the like weren't sealed up? people weren't excrementally terrified of germs then! ahhh those were the days)

  • I miss that Kelloggs Cornflakes advert soo much! Cornflake adverts today are so crap. That is a really catchy tune, I wish adverts were really catchy like that today.

  • Ah ! That Sunsilk music !

  • @bootsamou :

That's called "The Girl With The Sun In Her Hair," written by John Barry, who wrote most of the James Bond soundtracks, as well as "Born Free," "Out of Africa," etc.

  • awhh i wish i was around bak then! xx it seems so kewl! xx

  • Anyone got the 60's Kennomeat ad? 2 dogs and their man-servant.

  • Luvs me my Dusty! Miss her.

  • i'd love to be her knocker upper

  • Where's the sound?

  • only women in the 1970s/60s/50s would've been innocently persuaded into washing their hair with such a thing as egg extract. TV seemed so much simpler back then, i'm sad to have missed out on it.

  • back then was the bee's knees, i may be old and on my way out at 54, but i'm pleased to death i was born when i was, you did miss out

  • Redreds100: You aren't getting old, you're getting BETTER! :D

  • I would have to agree with you on that statement!

  • You're not on your way out at 54, please don't be negative. If you were 80, THEN you would be on your way out.

  • Don't want to be drpressing, but we're all sort of on our way out as soon as we come in.

By the way my Dad's 82 thanks for that.

Oh yes and adverts then were just like the ones now, crap.

  • It's the "innocent" flake advert that gat's me

  • Its nice to see Dennis Waterman has lost neither his cool nor his manky appeal.

  • I was the monorail at Skegness.

  • Are you a transformer?

  • Eddie Cochran, I'm So So Sorry.

  • The man in the pepsi ad is Peter Blake aka kirk st moritz from the Dear John comedy series from the eighties and is the harmony hairspray woman Leslie Ash?

  • willie weasel lol

  • Very special, thank you.

  • That Pepsi 50's ad. That hamburger stands looks like a early Mc Donalds. I'm suprised no lawsuits from them.

  • Having a good chuckle at all those 'sexist' ads of the past :-)

  • We used to sing "Trebor mints are a minty bit stronger, stick em up your bum and they last a little bit longer."

  • @wallygator100 Yeah, I remember my Mam clipped me 'round the lug when I sang that to her

  • @wallygator100 oh the shame.. so did I! LOL

  • @wallygator100 Same here :)

  • I have a few drinks, O.M.G. this is so better than bloody TV.,even though its TV! u know wat i mean !! ?

  • Totally loved this, thank you. *****

  • Egg shampoo?

  • Alf Garnet is fucking brilliant!

  • Is that Dusty Springfield singing about bread?

  • I thought it was too!

  • Blankfrack. Yes. It was Dusty singing on the Mothers Pride ad. I saw this filmed in the sixties. It was filmed in Bethnal Green, London, England. Right near my old school.

  • That's mint! I just though so. Our Dusty, singing about bread. Very nice!

  • The Old Spice jingle was sung by Stephanie De-Sykes.

  • I remember seeing the filming of The Dusty Springfield Mothers Pride Advert. It was filmed in Bethnal Green East London and I was at school. It must have been mid sixties. What memories.

  • Dusty was so great. I have a lot of her music on my IPOD.

  • Hi Blankfrack. Yes. Dusty was great. When they were filming this ad, I was about 14 years old. Dusty was so young and so pretty. She was one of the greatest, in fact she WAS the greatest singer of her time. She is sadly missed. Love, meljaxon x.

  • I'm 50, so I must have been pretty young as well. I've always just had a serious thing for her. That voice!

  • I know. She was so lovely.

  • Is she in the Mothers Pride advert after the Butlins ad.

  • The Flake Adverts, then as now, leave nothing to the imagination....such fun.

  • I remember the Trebor ads when I was a kid. We would sing, Trebor mints are a minty bit stronger, stick them up your bum and they last a bit longer! I'm still teaching there.

  • Dusty Springfield?!!

  • action man! dolls for boys!

  • Wow that girl is really admiring her candy bar :D

  • tamesidecitizen.blogspot

  • Oh I remember , that gave me a laugh today !

  • Dennis Waterman - top man!

  • As kids we used to say.

Trebor mints are a minty bit stronger...stick them up your ass and they last a bit longer

  • Very good.

  • i was a action man :-)

    Dave

  • Una Subbs she waws so hot back in the day and that silly git alf garnet what a laugh.

  • The Flake ad OMG. So many memories. they would never get away with that now

  • Brilliant! Thank you. Am hoping to find three ads in particular: Valspar Paint, from '78, with a seemingly tipsy actor; Grecian 2000, with a very strange lady; and Tribune Lager, with a very excited headmaster!

  • Now they ARE the real deal. Good Post

  • WOW, the wonder of the internet. not seen these for ever, Thank you for sharing

  • These adverts are pure gold, where did you get them all from?
