  • Y is he sowwy??

  • And that's why you don't take your daily car to the track

  • get track tyers if you go to track days there a lot more forgiveing if u get it rong

  • I'm sorry man... I'm really sorry man... :D how caring :P

  • By the way the road lies, it seems where he wiped out the road dropped off enough to give a little negative-g action at the wrong time.

  • Apparently he wasnt the first one to do that lol. Look at all the skidmarks on the road while hes crashing

  • I see you are on your way to becoming a great racing driver....starting with the excuses lol

  • this is how i got into my first accident...same exact thing except it was on the highway

  • Over steer, should've let it gone wayyyyyy sooner

  • Oh man there's gotta be something there!

  • the glare in the windsheild is why you dont armoral your dash, got that shit is annoying.

  • i love how they pass the guy before then on the lap prior then fuck up worse lol

  • Over steer ....over-steer...over steer ......under steer....boom....

  • don't blame the track..

  • Failure to manage understeer. Too much input once front tires gained traction. No reason to blame track conditions.

  • @68ray Yea youre right. Watched it again several times and its clear that the front tires are skidding all the way until they grip and then sends the rear out instantly. Ive done the same thing a few times, luckely never hit anything :P

  • both feet in as soon as u feel like ur gona spin!

  • The tires were squealing through the whole corner.... there was nothing there. lmao.

  • I have seen already a bunch of videos of cars crashing on that very same spot!

  • @Katlunazul all of which are noobs:)

  • @kentonraceman8 LOL!

  • "Im sorry Brian man I'm sorry." LOL He was probably think stay calm were still alive .

  • slow countersteer

  • You don't realize how fast he was going until 1:35.

  • That looked really strange. The car totally hooked up, then just lost all grip. Didn't look like a bump to me.

  • @MadCat360 OIL!

  • just got bumpy... lot traction point and went around

not rocket science but limerock is a rough track from Connecticut winters

  • There was a bump i think... the car went up then the front started to go down having less traction than it should and when the front landed all the way front tyres griped and u got oversteer...

  • sorry brian :(

  • What was the damage?

  • Big Bend at Lime Rock has two types of pavement with different traction properties. Very touchy getting on the gas exting this turn. If you've never been there and tried it, you know not of which you speak.

  • Yeah there was something there................. A fucking corner you shit took too fast.

  • THUMB UP if you see a face in the trees at 0:47 !!

  • @SplatterMW2

    It's Abe Lincoln!

  • @SplatterMW2 lol

  • @SplatterMW2

thats me shiting behind the tree !lol

  • @SplatterMW2 thats crazy

  • @YOURaR3TARDD i know LOL

  • my first reaction would be countersteer and BRAKE (as hard as possible without locking up the wheels). this guy countersteered and didn't brake LOL toom uch momentum once he got off the track

  • @Soffex the rear end was what slid out on him, now please explain to me what hard braking would have done?

  • @badSTI it would have slowed his momentum down so he could straiten out easier, because he didn't brake the rear end got too far out on him making countersteering not an option at that point and the car just goes where it is pointed b/c the traction at the speed is not good enough to change directions so quickly. Don't try and act like i'm stupid internet kid. I've got a Porsche 951 and go out to Road Atlanta a lot so I've had my share of track time.

  • stupid internet kid....nice......well about 98% drivers who know what they are doing will tell you to give the car gas and point the front wheels where you want to go, the wieght would have transfered to the rear, regained traction and he would have just slid through the corner. Your reaction is to save your precious porsche, while a professional reaction is to go fast and not lose as much time due to the slide. Anyways....dont wreck your porsche anytime soon.

  • @badSTI that is an option too, but if the track has oil on it or something like they claim he still would have slid off, just in the other direction. btw, what drivers are you talking about that know what they're doing?

  • @Soffex Ive been to the track a few times myself, and also, took advanced racing technique classes. I dont see anything on the track that would have made the car slide. As you can see in the video the corner is banked or cambered, whatever word choice youd prefer, and at the end of the corner the banking goes away, suddenly turning into a flat or possibly even off-camber corner. This caused the loss of traction because suddenly the wieght of car transfers.

  • wow that was the calmest crash I have seen.

  • Yep, there's something there alright...a shit driver ha ha ha ha ha.

  • UNDERSTEER KILLED THE REX! Sorry your car got wrecked Brian!

  • sorry i know place to put my banna peel...

  • DRIVING LIKE A GRANNY... Slow ass reaction

  • just skip to 1:24

  • cement

  • driver error should of floored it instead of letting off the gas...lift off oversteer

  • @fantastiko111 So to correct the understeer he should have made it worse by then accelerating hard? He aint drifting a RWD car mate.

  • its not the driver, its the car. WRX's can't handle

  • @JSpencerFan23 mine handles just fine.

  • la dure réalité de la course amateur !!!

  • awww shit :( man that really sucks.

  • The switch from the concrete patch to the asphalt is rough too. Watch when the blue gets loose, it's right when the RR transitions to the asphalt. This is why they say don't race your car unless you would be willing to drive it off a cliff. iRacing.com for me.

  • The switch from the concrete patch to the asphault is rough too. Watch when the blue gets loose, it's right when the RR transitions to the asphault. This is why they say don't race your car unless you would be willing to drive it off a cliff. iRacing.com for me.

  • The switch from the concrete patch to the asphault is rough too. Watch when the blue gets loose, it's right when the RR transitions to the asphault.

  • @fiveeightandten

    shut up.

  • Comment removed

  • It's not the drivers fault, I've been to plenty of tracks where they dont clean up anything after the day, and you could have oil / antifreeze on the ground from a previous track day. Sucks that he wrecked the car.

  • @z24supercharged i tried it,and it works ,(if ur front wheels r not under-steering)

when the rear end start sliding,if u throw the steering to the left just as fast as u can, the car will be adjusted AND U WILL make the car slide to the opposite direction, And then if u r good enough u will through it again to the right and then to the left...until u handle the car

IM SORRY AGAIN FOR UR CRASH..but this is the Truth

IT HAPPENED WITH ME SOOOO MANY TIMES.....

COME ON GUUUUUUYZ PLZ TEKK ME IM RIGHT

  • is this a 2.0 sport ?

  • man those cars handle well. too bad about the wreck.

  • Will the track pay for his car since there was oil which wasnt the drivers fault?

  • @ObviouslyBoredKid I have no clue about this, but I'm pretty sure you sign a waiver before you go on the track which includes something like this. So probably not.

  • sorry man, but wat a weak counterstear u did in at the starting of the slide!!!!

    AM I RIGHT?!!!

  • yeah it's so much fun then 1 mistake and you're up for a few K for a repair bill :(

    then do it again lol

  • Why didn't you edit just to the crash moment...dam boring

  • The road is retarded...

  • to which point you are ALL idiots... because it is LOSES it with one O, not "looses" it... like "my girlfriend is LOOSE", or "i am going to LOSE the race in my STI"...

wtf are you racing an STI on a paved road for anyway??? :)

  • That sucks man, hope you were alright and the car wasn't too bad.

  • that sucks man. Hope that the subi didnt get hurt to bad. I would have been so nervous at the beginning when that other guy hit that oil slick an almost lost it. Ill be sure to look out for those when i hit the track!

  • If you had been quicker with the opposite lock wouldn't it have had helped? steering work seemed extremly slow

  • Anyone who thinks the e brake helps when you spin should just give it a try. Make sure to video that shit as well.

  • "theres gotta be something there, god, i'm sorry, i'm really sorry"

  • dude, your lines are PERFECT! And I love Lime Rock.

  • That's a really cool track. Where was this at?

  • @brapboys503 It's lime rock..up north? USA

  • @Jonathanowns I know this.

  • sounded like Kermit the Frog?

  • shame to see someones pride and joy ruined, however how comes this track seems to have concrete patches instead of tarmac at the apexes.... seems rather dangerous

  • @AdamWebb1982 Just like the Nurburgring.

  • lods of other cars have gone of at that bit of the track cus if u look there are lods of tier marks going of the track

  • hahaha que tonto para controlar el carro!! tienes que girar el volante hacia el lado donde se valla la cola de tu choche ;)

  • not oil spot...is called understeer...this guy accelerates in the corner. Everyone that runs in tracks nows by rule that you have to brake before the corner and accel after the apex...this guy accel's at the apex. Just look at the corners before. He took about 3 of them too wide and fast in the entering with slow launches.

  • Its a little bit harder in the real world!

  • there was a darker patch of cement on the track right at the blue car's rear wheels when he broke traction... you did what you could to counter, but once you got sideways....... goodbye. good vid!

  • That's the thing with 4wd ..if it goes, it just goes ...

Feel bad though for this guys lovely car..hope he got back at the tracks very soon..never give up , the faster he returns the better he'll become .

  • Unfortunate crash but the correction was a bit slow

  • @Makreel44 I don't know, mate. Once he started slipping, the best he could have done is avoiding the tire wall. I've seen a lot of crashes where the outcome was hurt by the driver trying to stay on the track vs. having a more controlled off.

  • "There's gotta be something there."

    LOL, Ya think?!

  • no oil patch. straight concrete to pavement definate traction change. should take into consideration.

  • The guy who said "Im sorry Brian" sounds like the clear eyes guy

  • roflmao

  • you have to learn how to drive on a circuit

  • dammm..that sucks man...hope your subie is ok...

  • your boy has the best response to this: "God I'm sorry Brian". If you had someone like me, who doesn't know how to react it would have sounded like this: "Man... heeeey, shoulda bought an Evo".

  • @koukicrisp good Idea, more WRX less Evo on track :D!

  • @koukicrisp hell yea! evo's for life!

  • @nathan7atchison looking for your first crash-vid...

Any track-going carlover knows this can happen, it happened thousands of times with the best...the thing is you don't give up and learn from the crashes .

You have to meet the limits before you really know where they lie .

I think he reacted nice , not being too mad about it, just a bit of grief , like it should be . Get it repaired and go back as soon as possible!

  • @koukicrisp why so it could break

  • @koukicrisp it's a wrx, not an sti dude. different class. learn your cars.

  • @koukicrisp wrx handling is better than an evo on track, so you just ate your own shit.

  • @jiujitsu11 actually wrong.. evos handle better... everyone knows that. wrx's are known for understeer. you just ate your own shit my friend

  • @miucus have you driven both wrx and evo on track? mate i represent Chasers motorworks in melbourne.

im both a worker there and a driver..

We tune wrx's and evo's. im pretty sure i know what im talking about

    kthanxbai

  • @jiujitsu11 yes actually, and i own an evo. why is it that almost all reviews and comparisons between the two prefer the crisp sharp evo handling over the wrxs handling? evos win in handling tests almost every time due to wrxs known understeer. and why is it that evos hold most of the time attack records amongst awd cars? must not have anything to do with handling... but to each is their own, as you prefer the wrx handling, and i prefer the Evos

  • @miucus i respect that

  • @koukicrisp Being a true evo fan myself I would've said something like 'Good thing it wasn't an evo."

  • a car doesnt just rotate like that, it wasn't understeer in the turn, it was turning perfectly, maybe even rotating a little too much.

Snap oversteer is caused by throttle (too much or lifting off)..none of which he did, and none of which would dramatically effect an AWD car

Coming off that turn he probably should have straightened the wheel a bit earlier, but even still something caused the car to rotate like that...whether it was oil or the racing surface (i doubt..LRP is a famous track).

  • oi spill!!!!

  • Gotta be something there?? You gotta be kidding me! That was the biggest plough understeer, grab into massive oversteer i've ever seen. Learn basic car dynamics!

  • @bobba84 plough understeer? The car was oversteering through half of the turn, he was doing a great job at controlling it until coming out of the turn.

  • @SuperColossal33 you obviously taught him to drive mate! GET NEW STRUTS!

  • as he approaches the tires you can see other tire marks of many other drivers that failed the same turn

  • lol. not even a manual transmission -> epic fail

  • @blubbbla1987 all wrx/sti are manual. your knowledge about cars -> #fail

  • @r0llindubs WRONG, google owns you. Double fail.

  • @mathyu0179 dude youre dumb lol..

  • @r0llindubs They made rexes in auto. :) I think your knowledge with cars is the fail here.

  • @mathyu0179 if you say so.. never heard of a rexes & how about you say "fail" some more. grow past the mental capacity of a middle schooler lol.

  • @r0llindubs I know so moron, there are all kinds of wrx autos.

  • @mathyu0179 well my fault for not knowing about auto subies.. ive never seen one nor heard of one so they must be rare or common wherever youre from

  • @blubbbla1987 haha ... dumbass

  • how much damage do you think he did ?

  • god im sorry brian, im really sorry! haha lol i take it it wasnt his car the person who was driving?

  • not enough counter steering ... the guy barelly had any reaction : |

  • newb p0wn!

  • what was the update, did he have to buy a new car cause of frame damage or was it ok, how much did it cost

  • So, why the fuck do the have two different surfaces in the middle of a turn? Wouldn't you be dump to use that track?

  • oil

  • just shut the fuck up you uneducated fuck.

  • haha i like how hes like im really sorry buddy

  • crap track surface!

  • @god084

Surface may be crappy, but slow hands caused that incident. He kept the wheel pinched far too long after transitioning from concrete to pavement, and didn't correct fast or far enough when he started to oversteer...

  • @Wayneright True but still the difference between asphalt (especially once it has some heat in it) to concrete is like dirt and ice. I wouldn't even push it on that! Feel very sorry for Brian

  • Those sement patches dont help either.

  • @ SpoonHPR. That was my thought exactly! I wonder why Lime Rock didn't properly repair that section. Last I checked I didn't see that kind of "work" at Infinion or Laguna.

  • Comment removed

  • " Im sorry man " lmao.

  • To all the know-it-alls who haven't noticed yet, there was an oil patch on the track. Watch the car in front of him at 0:16. He looses it at exactly the same place on the track.

This was not the fault of the driver.

  • Well you would think that seeing that from the car in front he would perhaps take it abit easier at the same point the lap after.

  • Mhmm. You'd think. But I guess he likes to live dangerously. ;)

  • @fiveightandten yea at the end of the video you hear em, "there's gotta be something there"

  • @fiveightandten good call on the oil patch..

  • @fiveightandten I don't know about that. They both dialed in more steering right before they lost it. I'd be more inclined to think that's the cause. Also, if you jump back and forth, you can see that he's going faster the second time.

I wonder what kind of tires they were running.

  • @fiveightandten It was driver fault, because he tryes to look like a professional with those gloves, but it sucks, when the cars starts to slide, he just turns the wheel for 90º, and when the cars is completly lost he turns the rest.... patetic... This is in a AWD car, because in a RWD would be much worse...

  • @weed46 most drives wear gloves stop ur hands slipping on aftermarket wheels mostly.

  • @fiveightandten. to which point then he's an idiot as he just watched somone loose it infront of him the lap before but still push's it the very next lap. jesus what sort of an idiot does that!!!!!

  • @fiveightandten Yeah, and if you look at the road where they went off there are like 20 other skidmarks there from other cars that went off.

  • @fiveightandten We can see actually the patch, it is a long one. Did you see it?

  • @fiveightandten

well... i don't think it was oil

if it was then the car should have lost grip at the first lap when it was doing the same speed as the car up front that almost lost it in that turn... it didn't even show any signs of lost grip....

  • @mmamdouh75 in my opinion this is due to the track layout itself... this track is inclined to the right at that corner which allows you to go fast and deep but at the exit it becomes level before the corner ends so suddenly you got less grip to hold the G force you are generating and that triggers the spin... you can see at 1:36 the tire marks of previous victims of this tricky area

  • @mmamdouh75 Yes the corner goes from a cambered corner to an off camber corner, ive raced on a track very similar to this where ur takeing the corner perfectly fine and then the corner changes at the end causeing the car to lose wieght on the outside wheels which induces the slide. Off camber corners are challenging but once u know they are there u know what to do.

  • lol

  • Did you see tire marks going off the road right where he slid off too? he wasn't the first

  • Yeah there were lots of tire marks in the same place. Sucks.

  • I think I saw an oil stain before with the other subaru . Something that can´t be predicted ...

  • ulgy understeer, too much inside at the last turn and not enought room to fix the mistake, tapping the brakes made it bad. sucks man... how's the car? any pics or vids of the out side? that just gota hurt...

  • ahhh thats fucked up

  • The driving instructor is the funniest part. I love how he just agreed there must be something on the track. Instead of taking responsibility of not warning him about the transition from concrete to asphalt. (maybe he did and that part wasn't posted) regardless is very funny comment.

  • Driver: aww gee man Instructor guy: theres gotta be something there, im really sorry haha...whys he sorry he didnt make him crash lol

  • You can see @1.35 the tracks of another victim of that corner.

  • its allright bro thats how you learn

  • I've got an '05 STi and I've done this before. And instead I just slammed hard on the brake it kept me on the street, but I ended up doing a 180. People think because it's an AWD car that you can't spin out, but your rear end is pushing out more power than your front. All I can say is that an early counter-steer may have helped but I've been in the exact same situation and its difficult to tell if it's just a little normal "slide" or if its going to come completely out.

  • hit asphalt tires gripped. did the exact same thing as the other wrx crash

  • The driver sounds so disappointed. I would be too :-( Live and learn!

  • It sounded like it was the passenger's car. :(
