@skeeter101010 ... Thanks Steve! That was last years footage throughout the year. 99% of the time I take my video camera to the woods with me ... I feel naked without it. It helps me pass up big bucks because I can capture the video to share with everyone. Major improvements on this land this year ... I'm rained out of there this week, so I can't get in there with the heavy equipment.
Thats awesome you are thinking further than the harvest.
I like the work you have been doing.
When you implement TSI treatments and are undertaking the tasks of removing trees for various reasons...I hope you are leaving them or some of them on the ground as they can house an enormous amount of life. My Biology Prof would tell us that one log on the forest floor is worth more than one human life...as it houses huge amount of organisms.
@anavidhunter ... Thanks avid ... let me make it very clear I "remove the unhealthy, dead or undesirable trees" that HAVE NO VALUE TO WILDLIFE! I make it point to KNOW WHAT I'M DOING... ALWAYS!!!
@HawgNSonsTV2 Thats great Trent, I know you"re very knowledgeable. I have always been impressed by your understanding and observations. I used to be a Forestry Engineer and did various work in Botany, Forest Health and other Biology fields and I majored in Plant & Tree Biology & Forest Ecology. I do feel confident that you know your stuff, but it never hurts to mention a "thought" and I have found that not many people seem to know how important a "simple" dead log on the ground can be
@anavidhunter ... Well Kyle ... I don't know everything ... but I try to! I will be filming a series of videos that show more in depth exactly what I have learned about Land Management and Habitat Improvements. So feel free to lend your expertise. I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but it's just an accumulation of foolish comments from other people that touch a nerve ... so I apologize for that Kyle!!!
@HawgNSonsTV2 I guess if some of us don't pick up the slack, everyone would just be in it to take take take. That's a sad truth, but a true outdoors person will protect the thing they love. thanks again for this insite to your setup. I'll put one together this spring!
@1gamoguy ... Mr Martin thanks bud ... I was asked to write bog entries for Flameau's new web site they are launching, so I put this little video together in a day. I will have land management videos real soon. This video just ties into the subject or "more info" ... displaying all the wildlife that my past work has brought in.
@HawgNSonsTV2 The bucks would be here but nobody does deer management, if they see a 2-4 pointer they are taking it. And the poachers across the road dont help :(. Pretty much no matter what size deer it will be dead.
@ACountryBoy4X4 use to be like that around here too, damn city slickers moved up behind the house, and a few years back one of them came walking through the field with a deer hog tied and was hanging around his neck :o/ our rotti was bigger than the deer the guy shot, and for what 3 venison steaks?? some people just dont understand the point of hunting, and just want to kill due to them being trigger happy
@HawgNSonsTV2 Actually yes i have, its a group of hunters, and they drop one off without camo into the forest preserve to walk the deer back to where the hunters are...... makes me real mad.
rednecks :)
