  • Darn... I cant do this... WTF@*#%(@%#

  • I suggest to iPhone 2G users to try our firmware whited00r

  • f***, its gonna explode!

  • 7:32 notice he said daring

  • 6:46 "beld the case open"

  • I'd rather pay a professional to do this than fuck up my £280 phone !

  • @Lucas1233 ur a dumb ass its easy

  • listen to me and do it if you have no expertise... Even if you can dissamble it, putting it back together will still be the most frustrating part.

  • works. thank you :)

  • @theigl hey did you use a regular hot soldering iron or cold soldering iron thank you

  • @foxxentertainmentvid

    a hot soldering iron

  • Ive change my battery with no problem..but a little bit of a hard time on soldering. . Thanks for this upload mate..

  • hey my black ribbon popped out when replacing my lcd. I cant just solder it? why would i need to replace entire mother board?

  • is it okay if its jailbroken?

  • Thanks!!!!!

  • Hey thanks I just fixed my little brothers iPhone

  • i have a few questions. when i touch the solder to the conector then it turns to liquid i detach BUT is there a certain step i should talk to clean the conections of old solder? also from OTHER VIDEOS I SEE THEM JUST heating the wire to the board.. how do i efectively solder the wire?

  • What a pain in the ass. Why does apple build the iphones like this? There should be a simple ribbon connection for this battery. I have a 3G and want to replace the battery, but even though I'm more than capable enough to do all of this, it isn't worth the risk to me. Personally, I don't know why you wouldn't just cut the wires, then use add some small connectors (like the classic ipod) to avoid soldering all together.

  • just for safety !

Reconnect the RED wire First ! since the case it's negative connected, if you plug the BLACK wire first, when you connect the RED one you have to very careful not to touch anything. Black wire comes out first and should be placed last for all grounded systems , including your car !

    Amaral

  • I replaced the battery with no issues. Was able to load it up and disconnect from wall. I then turned it off to put the SIM card in and it will not go past the black apple symbol. It just attempts to boot up for 2-3 seconds and cuts out. Anyone have this problem? Is this common? Any takers?

  • If it's rebooting automatically at the apple icon this is usually the Proximity Sensor going bad. Unplug the proximity sensor and see if it boots normally.

  • @iphonebatteryrepair where is the proximity sneson??.. i replaced a lcd digitizer and screen on my phone and put it back togeather and it doesnt charge or turn on for some reason any help??

  • @iphonebatteryrepair It turns out the solder I was using was touching the back of the aluminum case. I covered my connections with glue and everything worked fine.

    Thanks for the video!

    -Customer

  • my iphone wont restore n if i change the battery will it restore or do i need hardware and wen i do first when i dont put a sim card in it comes up with error 1603 n wen i put one in it comes up with error1611

  • Can you just connect the old wires off the battery to the new ones?

Also will this restore my iphon and unjailbreak it?

    Thanks

  • mine did not start after this, could be the problem is smwhere else i dropped it in water after all.. :(

  • he said tool xD

  • 5:18 *picks up iphone holding it by the aluminum shell* - drops and shatters screen - ...fuck me

  • HOW IS THIS HARD i did this and im 13 WTF?

  • hello i have a question i replace the battery on my iphone 2g but theres a problem i solder the white wire to the black sections and black wire were the white wire is suppose to go do you think i might need a new system board

  • Thanks for the great instructions. Just successfully completed the job. The case came off easier than expected but the soldering was very tricky...needed to put a very small amount of new solder on the three terminals to get a good hold. With patience this can be done...I would recommend watching the video twice before starting.

  • DAMN, THAT IS REALLLY HARD

  • Just did mine.... and broke the hole phone:'( gl to others, in my case shit happends..

  • great video - very very useful guide ;-)

  • 0_о нахрена

  • thanks just done mine no problems

  • after i replace battery for iphone 2g. the battery is hot but screen is not turn on.. can you tell me what happen?

  • Why did they made this very simple procedure, like batery replacement so difficult. On any other phone you just remove back cover, remove old batery, then just place new one on it's place, close the cover and that's it. It requires less than one minute, even kid can do this. Because many people don't wanna risk and accidentally break something, they just go and by a new one Iphone, or take it to service and pay a lot of money. Very smart :D

  • Hello, note when attempting to replace the iphone battery, you need to be very carefull and have some electrical and mechanical skill.

  • Thanks for the tutorial guys, worked like a charm! People, this is not for rookies to iPhone fixing or soldering. If you've never been inside of an iPhone or other small electronic device before you probably shouldn't try this. If you're a beginner at soldering you shouldn't try this, the contacts are really close together and one false move could leave you in big trouble with those wires touching. There isn't much room for error with this one.

  • do u guys fixed lcd or do u know any1 dat fixed 2g lcd?

  • Guess these guys have never heard of a zoom, or a real microphone.

  • @adric22 rofll

  • my ipod touch will now charge :)

  • wow i would never do that :| i would just let apple do it incase shit happens then its there problem.

  • Thank you.. It went flawlessly thanks to your help. Much appreciated !!! :0)

  • Also, can you re-direct me to a LOUD speaker replacement guide or could you tell me what needs to be disconnected to access the loud speaker at the bottom of the iPhone?

  • Very good video. I got the plastic tools & yeah... they do not work. I still haven't got the aluminum back cover off because it's very hard but I'll try again tomorrow.

  • Where do you get a new system board from?

  • nice instructions

  • hello! i did like in video but my iphone dosent work anymore.what could happened?

  • @reigo84 he did say at your own risk so :/

  • @reigo84 Lmao thats why i aint trying it. that shit looks difficicult

  • i change the battery but now the iphone dosent work at all...?can enybody knows what happened?

  • Have an iPhone? Check out POCKETPOON d0 t COM for the BEST iPhone and iPod p0rN app on the net!! Word

  • Do I need new solder or can I use the the solder the battery was connected to?

  • I did this, now my iPhone wont charge? anyone know why?

  • Worked like a charm! Thank you ;-)

  • @Tehnebki7

Good suggestion Apple shut down the iPhone 4g preventing them from booting up the phone the phone

The majority of you people watching this video don't have the cash money to buy Apples latest iPhone, since it will be $489

However I found out on the Apple FB Fan Page Saturday they are giving away a few thousand iPhone 4gs. Also, this will take you to their iPhone 4g giveaway website ... just copy and paste

    way。com/iphone4gfree25

Oh yeah, the for the last part is FACEBOOK9096

  • Do you think its possible not to solder but just cut the wires of the old battery and connect it to the new battery's wires??

  • @romanopapa It should be possible since there will be electrical connection, but you must be really sure that the connections will not touch one to another. The best thing for the last is to welded to the board.

  • i have a 2g iphone battery and the colors are different, mine are blue, yellow, red which ones go first help please asap??????

  • @MrBlacksmith123 I purchased one of these recently as well. When I took apart the new battery, the blue lead is attached to the negative terminal on the battery PCB, so it is the equivalent of the black wire. Therefore, the yellow wire is the equivalent of the white. Hope that helps others as well. It was a bit of a pain, but iPhone is back alive, so I must have done it right!

  • screw you apple my battery is completely dead and youre making me sauder?!?!?!

  • Can I take the back case of my ipod touch and put it on my iphone? If your wondering why I wanna do this is because it'll be skinner.

  • @Chris3836

Not possible, the ipod touch doesn't have the vibrate module, and other things the iphone does.

  • just kidding it didnt hahah

  • my plastic just break thanks!

  • @The9Tony only yourself to blame for your mistakes mate

  • didelidadelidu ihr könnt ka deutsch

  • song 9:10 ??

  • im thinking of buying a real cheap iphone 2g on ebay the only problem is its cracked screen n wont turn on will a new battery fix the iphone making being able to turn on

  • WHAT THE FRACK ? your sticking metal into the electronics of the phone ! you risk shorting it out !

  • What is the white wire in the battery for

  • ur a genius!!

  • I installed the battery and worked ok but after the battery died I put it on charge but it's not charging at all plz help

  • think ur supposed to charge it for like 12 hours the first time

  • @gamergta1

Hi, I have the same problem here. The iPhone shows to be connected to the charger with that little flash symbol but it´s not charging at all. How did you fix it? please..

  • when i was removing the battery line the little things that are soldered to the phone came out with it plzzz help

  • i dont think they are soldered, they just sorta clip on just push them

  • @dronkey28

but do i have to use the soldering iron to take em off?

  • just ordered my new battery, I think i'll leave the old one in!!!

  • He lost me at "sodder", if he can't pronounce a simple word how the hell can you trust him?

  • that's how you pronounce it

  • apple makes for free!!!

  • Its SOLDER ! You will be Soldering

if your doing soddering that video should be posted on Xtube.

  • seems like this guy was presenting at a gunpoint!!

  • F*** me..... it's like defusing a bomb!

  • @and2rew And Exploded

  • @and2rew LMFAOOO

  • how come all these videos make it look as if it just pops off? it must be my phone, but my casing will barely lift no matter what i try, im so afraid of breaking it but i am being very forceful. i am using glasses screw drivers and a butter knife because i dont have the proper tools..but the utensils im using are fine, my case is just stubborn!

  • becareful what you believe on the interweb. most of these videos show iphones that have already been taken apart multiple times so the video make it seem easy.

  • Seriously... it is not that hard. You just need to "remember" to be very very careful during the process of popping out the back Aluminium cover there is a RIBBON CONNECTOR sitting inside like a booby trap waiting for you snap/tear it unnoticeably. I have tried stripping open my macbook pro before just to clean and change parts too. Just be gentle and apply force at the right time at the right place. Good luck.

  • I hate you mine broke when i was trying to remove the battery it split open and black stuff split all over the iphone JERK

  • the battery split open?

  • yah it was crazy

  • well u kinda have no right to say i hate u to them after all they did say so it at your own risk. ur battery must have been really worn out for this to happen. this does not only happen to iphone batteries btw. about a month ago i had a AA battery on my desk and the top blew off and it started gushing acid.

  • This is not really that Hard!... Just push from the side out and will POP right off!

  • Thanks for the video! I wasn't replacing my battery but trying to do something about my sleep/wake button that was only responding to extremely hard pressure. I opened up my iphone using your instructions and I was able to clean the contacts between the dome and pad portion of the switch with alcohol. I also removed a lot of dust and hair that was building up inside the device. Now my iPhone works like new again! No more having to smash hard on the power button to make the screen turn off!

  • Best investment I ever DIDN'T MAKE was an I-phone. Wow this is unbelievably poorly thought out engineering. And why do they still have no easy swap out accessabilty on newer models? Or expandable slot built in for Micro SD access? Why have that stupid proprietary connection instead of just using an everyday mini USB connection??? Just start by giving people the basic things they would expect on any other normal device! Please!

  • how do the 3 battery wires go into the board?

  • fuck iphone noob.... nokia better

  • your so stupid! im not a iphone fanboy but i know whats good and whats not, nokia is for buissenes guys not for geeks and kids!

  • From what I can see, if you had wider, flatter tools, you could get away without damaging the aluminum case. The plastic, I am not so sure.

  • to replace the battery

you solder the RED then White Then Black ..

otherwise you risk shorting the battery. stupid Yank!!

  • When you remove the battery from the iPhone, it doesn't matter what order you really remove them. It's trivial.

When soldering the wires when putting in a new battery, you want to do the order they suggested.

Red is the HOT wire, the +. That's why it's heatshrink wrapped, so you don't short anything. If you do that FIRST, you can risk damaging components.

  • Comment removed

  • Mines jailbroken and I dont feel like restoring so apples services are not an option

  • what do you do if you just pulled the wires off..

  • You buy a new motherboard aka ur fucked

  • i just bought a broken iphone and when i disassembled it i managed to pull the wire off accedently but got the red and white reconnected and the iphone still works so thats not totally true coming from an EST

  • its so amazing. such a high tech gadget, so well made, and u need to use primitive tools to open it.

  • somebody help my iphone 2g wont power on

  • i could not do it without this video. Thank you for posting.

  • "be forcefull with your tools"! xD

  • its water damaged

  • Hello

  • Cut myself three times when opening the damn thing. Good video though.

  • it didnt look so hard

  • hi. I replace my battery but its still not working. idk if i didnt solder my battery wires right or that it has another problem. can anyone help me with my problem?

  • I think I'll go to the Apple store.

  • lol I think I will too XD can't be cheap when it comes to the best phone in the world! Does anybody know how many years the battery will last???????????????????

  • atleast you can. some of us dont have that option. the nearest apple store for me is 2 hrs away in atlanta. So sometimes you do what you have to do.

  • You make me feel guilty now because the nearest Apple store to me is 10 minutes by car :(

Anyway, I think you can send it. I bet there is also this opportunity!!!

  • yea... 2hours its just too much...i walk there took me 15mins...

  • mY aCceLeroMeter doesnt worK when turNing it on The LefT side buT iT woRks on the riGht, do You knOw whaT to do to fix iT??

  • It does not get any better than this! Thorough explanation, great "how to" guidance provided.

  • Why this fella so hard to open the case? Use the opener tools bro, you're killing your iphone

  • the opener tools don't Work.

  • This is the first time i heard a guide say "be forceful with your tools"

  • what's up with that sound?? biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip

  • aw crud, i posted this on the wrong video.

  • Hello, when I connect my iphone 3g to the computer, it doesn't seem to want to turn on and the computer doesn't recognize it but the battery gets too hot after trying to charge it for 30 min for whatever reason. Is it some sort of battery problem or a circuit board?

  • We've seen this go both ways. It's either your battery or system board 50%-50%. The only way to know is to try the battery. Their fairly easy to replace on the 3G model. Good Luck!

  • Go to Setting -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Fetch New Data = OFF

    Retry again :)

  • @KaishouEleven It seems like what happened to me when something went wrong in my jailbreak process. You probably got it repaired already, but what i did was plug it into the computer(the screen doesn't turn on) and then put if it dfu mode(you still don't see anything on the screen.) After putting it in dfu mode, it should turn on into dfu mode. Then restore your iphone.

  • Seriously F*** apple for even having to do this.. Great video BTW..

  • Your solding iron should be on the highest setting. The solder apple uses liquifys at a higher temperature. Don't pull back on the wire until the solder liquifys.

  • How hot should I do my soldering iron? Any tips for how long to solder the connections? Any help? Didn't see anything on the site?

  • Ok im only 15 and im not fooled by this shit... It is usefull to alot of people but i have an iphone 3g so not for me but still.... An iphone 2g?!?! Give me a break the 3g in iphone 3g is its internet not its model... If ur going to name based on that it should be the

    iphone edge

  • EDGE is approximately 2.6-2.75g. So 2G is an accurate and easy name to use for the first generation of iphone.

  • I need to replace my battery but I really don't want to try this on my own. You're pro installation service says its not available.. is it going to be available again soon? I REALLY need to get this replaced.

  • Hi WisnerInvaders,

Pro-Installation service is now available through the order page.

  • at the start hes talking in a way the iphone is like a bomb.

  • My sim tray is stuck.

How can i remove the back cover without removing the sim tray? (is it possible without breaking anything inside? im trying to fix the sim tray, it wont pop up when i insert paper clip and etc to the little hole)

    Thanks in advance.

  • ORoyalO,

You'll need to force the SIM card tray out. If you don't you will damage the system board upon opening the case. Good Luck!

  • Can u suggest how to force it?

when i insert a paperclip it just come up by 1mm.

Pliers can't help cause there is only 1mm i can hold on to on sim tray.

  • It worked!

I used bigger nail than the hole of the sim tray than used hammer to get it in then i pulled it out and the sim tray pulled out aswell!

    thanks alot for your help!

  • My battery fell of during a screen replacement. So does this mean my iPhone is no good, and why could i not just solder off the small peices of metal and then instal a new battery.

  • fuck i knew i shouldent have bought a iphone on ebay that needs a new battery. lets just say i dont have the steadist hand when it comes to soldering

  • i need a new battery on my iPhone 3G

  • Thank you for this wonderful information!!!

  • Great Video. Nice Website. 5 Star.

  • Nice to see a professional level video instead of hackers throwing together a bunch in information. Good information and I had an opportunity to review you website and this seems to be at the same high standard.

  • Thanks for the tip on preventing the battery shorting out.

  • Wow, I've been looking for a good iPhone battery replacement video and this covers everything! Great work.

  • Thanks! I like your tips on the battery removal.
