I love seeing people bitch about the recording quality of something from the early 1970's. People didn't have the luxury of pro equipment like we do today-be fortunate for what we have. These people that recorded these shows had no idea that people would want to ever listen to this stuff 40 years later.

In a way, it might be even better to hear it this way - because the best parts of the performance shine through the shitty sound, like: Tony's perfect playing and the tone of his guitar cutting through, Ozzy hitting all the notes - it's almost like a recording of someone playing the album down the hall. .Amazing such a low quality recording can sound SO damn good!

So tools such as yourself wouldn't expect them to play War Pigs, Iron Man, Paranoid, etc. etc...which sadly seems to be required when you tour as Black Sabbath. You could drop all those songs from a Sabbath setlist and I wouldn't mind.

And yes. He "owns" the name. That's why Ozzy is suing him for it. Wouldn't be much sense in that if Iommi didn't own it, right?

cause blacksabbath was the name throughout their WHOLE career. ozzy left and couldn't name the band that would follow him thru his solo career 'blacksabbath' cause the fact toni owned the name .

the band only recently changed to heaven n hell through a joint agreement with toni AND dio cuz dio's first song with sabbath was heaven n hell .

toni also owns logo but's changed it now to the chapter in the bible for armagedon ;)

Yeah Greg, I kind of understand however on albums 1 & 2 Ozzy's vocals were litterally a third instrument.

The first Sabbath album I was exposed to was an 8 track of Vol.4 -couldn't believe a rock band was so freakin melodic and eventually wore the 8 track out, after that it was Paranoid which almost sounded like another band because the vocals were lower & very cool, next I purchased a record of B.S. #1 -an incredible masterpiece that left us stunned -over and over we'd say "Thats Ozzy?".

whethat show came to town..I wasn't allowed to go..(7th grade) I did have that first album. They again came two years later to Cinncinati Gardens right after Vol 4 came out. Once more after that then it began to go to hell for Ozz..worked out for the better

there is also a version from the hollywood bowl from a few days later. There is also two versions from the 2001 tour.

I have a copy of under the sun as well as cornucopia from 2001. sounds awesome. The one from 72 at the hollywood bowl aslo has wheels of confusion. I got that copy from the deep purple hub. You can download just about any concert ever done. Hope this helps. If i can figure out how to put music on here i will put the 2001 version.
