Parts are easy enough to find for full size 61 Chevys. The difficulty comes with trying to find parts specific for a Biscayne, trim pieces etc. They are available from different people. There is a guy in Nebraska that has a lot of quality used parts for that era Chevy. I was able to locate everything I needed except for the rubber floor matting that they use instead of carpeting in a Biscayne. I really like the 61 2 dr. post Chevys :). Good luck!
@forrestrocks1980 - they are still out there. 2-drs. are a little harder to find than 4-drs. I saw a nice 61 2-dr. Biscayne for sale not too long ago, it was sweet!
Nice car, I just got one for my first car, I have a year and a half and it has a 307 with 350 heads and dual exhaust, when I bought it, the guy had 3500 dollars in it, I got it for 300 bucks, guess it is just who you know, mine has a 3-speed on the column
AWESOME! I had a blue 62 Biscayne back in 1981. Full roller high compression 327 4 speed. I got in a lot of trouble with that car. Watch out for the cops!
I kinda agree with you. Looking for a set a 'steelies' that will fit the disc brake calipers, I also think it would look good with red steel wheels and 'dog dish' hub caps.
I have to agree, I would like to see her with 'steelies' and 'dog dish' hubcaps, don't think they would fit over the disc brakes though. It would be nice to change the look from one to the other. Thanks for your nice comments!
Thank you so much for the comment! You have captured 'the essence' of driving a manual tranny,"Shifting make you giving life to your car you can let her breath when you want" Excellent
Ha-ha, well we think alike, I'm looking for some 17" Steel wheels with some dog dish center caps also. I think it would be fun to switch out the wheels. There's a picture of my Biscayne in the January issue of Chevy High Performance if interested.
I love rhe older corvette rallys.I just traded a real clean 83 Grand Prix for a rus/dent free 83 Malibu Wagon. Some people may say eww a wagon but I think thet are very nice hotrod/cruisers.I have gold daytons but I hope to trade then for a nice set od rallys.I love the taller rims but I'm poor so I'll have to stick to burning off 15's,peacw
66 Biscayne's are a favorite of mine as well! Would like to see a picture of it. Is it a 3-spd. on the column or Powerglide? What color? I used to have a 66 Impala SS convertable with a 396 and Turbohydramatic in Marina Blue.
Thanks for the nice comments. Yes, it still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up when I fire it up as well! Like the TV commercial says, does your car 'return the favor when you turn it on'? Oh Yeah!!
hey. thats awesome car it has the exact same engine i have in my 72 camaro i have 2 straighet pipes on bought sides ;) sounds great that engine.... do you too have a 3 stepped manual transmission?
My dad gave me his 62 biscayne 4 door, it was his first car, now my 3rd. want to make it a resto-mod, alot like yours, did you run into any problums with the TKO when droping it in, and any problums with the torque on the x frame.
Hey thats a nice 62 BISCAYNE. I have one myself, not as powerful as yours, mine is more of a cruiser with a 305. Anyways its nice to see a clean biscayne I know not many were made compared to impalas.Your welcome to see mine!
Hey nice Biscayne! Thank you for the nice comments on mine. I like the "Impala" treatment on the rear trunk panel. Is that painted silver? Or is it the actual "Impala" panel, of course that would be 3 tailights?
Thank you for the nice comments. I'm using a Lunati Hydraulic roller with .595 intake lift and .612 exhaust lift, duration is 242 degrees intake and 252 degrees exhaust measured at .050 tappet lift.
Was this a car you had when you were younger or a car you always wanted?

She looks like very fast and she is beautiful.
I think smaller rims and bigger tires could be better on it.
I'm French and i'm happy to see an American driving and prefering a standard gear box.
Shifting make you giving live to your car you can let her breath when you want .
People forget this often
Very good job !
