ok listen. Great idea but heres the thing. All that you are doing is switching the wide angle element around so it casts a shadow, making it have slight vig. Its not any wider than if you leave the lens alone. Just buy a Kenko .43x or opteka baby death if you have a low budget.

yea just take out the bottom lens becasue if the bottom lens is out it makes either side of the big lens look like a fisheye. i just keep it like it came casue if you flip the big lens to you get the same outcome but with more vig so dont even waste your time flipping the big lens just take out the litttle lens in the botttom

ledzeppelin is right. just take the macro lense at the bottom out and wala. i tested every posibility with this wide angle lense and just taking out the bottom element works great. Aspect 16:9 works best useing the mod. 4:3 just reduces the wideness and distortion, whis is what you want.

there is a setting ony our cam to fix that got to menu and i forget what its called but its under wind cut off and it wont shake. check outt my vids and subscribe and i will do the same

instead of flipping the lens, take off the macro lens in the bottom, makes it so much wider and has more barrel distortion, i just did this for my friends, its better looking to take off the macro.

you dont need to take apart lenses for this effect. all telephoto lens have fisheye

in reverse. video the front of the lens instead of the part screw in if you want fish eye effect

wideangle doesnt have distortion, fisheye does. distortion meaning when you put it up to a square picture it will make it round looking

just use a hair dryer for about 5 minutes and unscrew the ring. trust me it worked

oh, i got it out, use a CD or anything that can go across the lense, it came out really easyly. Dont do the fire thing it could damage ur lense.

ya dude, just on the ring where you unscrew it. Get a lighter (better if it's one of those wind resistant ones) and run it around the circle really fast for a few minutes

it's aluminum so it's not real strong so when you do unscrew it hold it on the bottom on the small lens so it's unsrewed easier

or you could throw it in a bag then put it in hot water so it expands to make it easier

blow dry it with a hair dryer for a little bit until its hot then try unscrewing it with the screwdriver, will be a lot easier with out scratching the lens

now my camera has really bad black edges around it. is there a way to like extend my lens or something to minimize the edges but keep the same fisheye? i tried just zooming in but it didnt look as good.

Hey, this is the same person as akabreakdownfilms. Spacing the lens farther away from the camera would cause even worse vignette (thats the black edges) Zooming is pretty much your only choice. You could also crop out the vig on your editing software, unless you use windows movie maker, then you can't.

you know how i got the ring to open. i used a compass, that thing that you use to draw perfect circles with. i took out the pencil from one end and replaced it with a paperclip. then i opened it up so it perfectly fit the two slits. it took minimal effort to unscrew it like this. =)
