  • I was a crew chief on a TBM-3E Avenger and flew to several airshows in it.

    Once to Oshkosh Wi.

Wright Cyclone R2600-20 1900 HP power plant playing round engine music.

But no match for the music from my friend's playing the piano though.

    I love both genres.

  • the sweet sounds of well build planes, the only thing that would be better then this, is the announcer shutting up.

  • Y must the announcer, destroy the sounds of beautiful planes, A

  • Air show announcers certainly like to hear themselves talk. Shut up already and let us hear the damn planes!~

  • Damn corsair makes air planes now, they sure are expanding!

  • Shut up, doofus!

  • Also talking 2,800 cubic inch's ,,why they hold 30 gallons of oil

  • 30 g of oil......so much for taking that one to the in and out in a jiffy at jiffy lube..

  • @kingwithabrokencrown A semi takes 15 gallons. I thought that was a lot. Damn.

  • Announcer: Bla-bla-bla-blaa...and bla bla bla blala blaa, thank you and have a nice day.

  • Its True The Announcer is Happiest Yapping during the only reason for being there , the Fire up & Fly over . Got to love an ass ! ( STFU PLEASE )

  • why does the propeller go so slow and even backwards???

  • That's just an illusion. Have you ever looked at the hubcaps of a car driving next to you and they seem to be spinning the opposite direction at a relatively slow speed? That's basically what's happening here.

  • Camera shutter speed needs to be set correctly.

  • @lander4545 it is moron it's not even the camera it happens with your own eyes

  • @onionman113 You can see it with YOUR own eyes because YOUR brain is a little short on the shutter speed! You jerk!

  • @lander4545 oh your cool (sarcasm in this), and yes your eyes can see it moving i know i'm right i've been to one of these

  • it doesn't. it's an illusion due to the speed of the propeller and the speed of the camera recording frame rate. :)

  • shutter speed on the camera.

  • Frame rate of camera taking the film...

  • He must shooting at a very fast speed, if he's filming at more the 1/125th of a second, the prop starts to slow down on you.

  • I used to fly one of these for nato before they went with the F15; look me up in nato alumni . com

  • Sadly, this TBM Avenger had an in-flight fire and made an emergency landing before burning to the ground. There was nothing left. The pilot survived with serious injuries.

  • Love these planes.. great vid... 30 gal of oil. is a lot... I drive a Semi.. 15Liter Cummins holds 10 gal... I thought that was a lot.

  • The early ones had 3-bladed props.

  • Why does that Corsair have a 3-bladed prop...All the Corsair's I see have 4 blades

  • the guy didn't have money to buy the extra blade.

  • @bassplaya1549 To answer your question; Early versions 1-3 had an R-1800 2,000 hp engine, and a 13'6" 3 blade prop. Versions 4-7 had R-2800 rated at 2,800 hp, but with actual use proved 2,950 hp, they were equiped with a 4 blade 14' 2" prop. the last version F2G often mistakenly called a F-4U used a R-4360 4,000 hp engine, and can bedistinguished by the straight line top of the fuseloge giving the pilot bettwe rear vision.

  • I wish the announcer would just shut the hell up and let us listen to that sweet music already!

  • @salemcripple

i always hated announcers at air shows.... they assume everyone at an air show has no idea of anything.

  • @cs512tr don't forget there will always be new comers who don't nessercerily know....

  • @Lancaster630

that is true. i dont disagree with you, i just think they talk a bit 'too much' in general.

  • @salemcripple Yes but there are plently of other videos of just engine sound... +A duet between a thoses two planes is not very good sounding

  • it takes a while to heat up 30 gallons of oil

  • I love that sound.

  • 30 gallons of oil imagine what that cost..ouch never the less i love the corsair

  • ya,those big radials are oil monsters!

  • Did that guy say 30 gallons of oil? Wow, I thought the diesel in my truck held alot.
