This was already done by Honda many years ago. Still an interesting video although more of a show off than actually making much sense. And btw VW sucks as a corporation.

@leeg1970 nope. You're absolutely right. Audio do no more or less than other companies. I worked on an Audi advert last year - there attention to sound is as lame as any other company! Audio have pulled the wool over a few peoples eyes here as they have just told the public what every sound designer does on a daily basis. In other words - nothing new here!

@narcoman2 You do realize that the vast majority of the world has no idea what sound designers do on a daily basis. For me it's great to show the general public a glimpse of the types of things that I do. The same way that I like watching behind the scenes for other disciplines. There is no wool pulling here, it's simply Audi showing that they are thinking about a cohesive sound branding along with their other branding initiatives. Just like leeg1970 it's pretty obvious you DKWTF.

and you can by solar cells for 50cent per watt on ebay if you are up to building some panels. and soon solar panels will be very cheap lasting 30 years collecting free energy. electric cars are so superior

This is really interesting. Audi spends big bucks on the "sounds" of it's brand. Nothing happens by accident anymore.

The question is...is this a way to differentiate the brand? Does it help elevate the brand as a premium brand? Or is this a backroom activity that becomes a promotion unto itself? And would a low end vehicle be a better car if this kind of attention to detail was included? Or is this kind of detail only possible when you've already established the super premium brand position?

So wait, if someone could explain, but in the various Audi videos I've been watching the music could have been composed from doors opening on an audi car, or various buttons being pressed on the interior? That's amazing if it is.

I love the attention to detail Audi places in everything, not just their cars. I wish I worked for them. :(

Audi is part of VW and VW is substantially owned by oil interests. that's why they show electric car but they don't produce them. Audi is evil. elegant but evil
