This song has lived on in the back of my mind ever since I heard it back around the time it came out on the Oasis 106.1 in Dallas (never thought to look it up online until now so thanks for sharing). That station was so great, I will forever miss it and the great music they played.
dear trimwell: pls learn to spell. At least learn to spell video if you're prepared to air your sorry comments to the world. This version of the song is the one that the great lady chose to put on her album, you stupid ppperson.
@duttyschemerw6 - Couldn't agree more! I was somewhat open mouthed when I read trimwell's profile and found out he was 46! I thought he would be about 10 - lol. Many thanks.
dunno if it was the original, but the only version I had heard prior to this was Frankie Laine! This just blows me away. Carried it with me on a hike on the AT one summer.

@DC7077 the original was done by The Sons of the Pioneers. A great Country band that existed since the 1930's with several famous singers replacing those that left or died. They can be seen in Branson, Missourri now. It has been done by many performers but this version rivals the best and the originaldone by The Sons of the Pioneers. Gawd!!!! Willie Nelson is singing backup here!!!!!
I've been looking for this song! I use to hear this in heavy rotation on a smooth jazz station here in California back in the late 80's/early 90's and haven't heard it since then, so it's been close to 20 years. This brings back lots of good memories of that time for me. I love her take on this western classic and Willie Nelson's vocals appropriately tie the song together. Perfect visual for this. Very soothing. Thanks for the post! :-)
Hi, Thanks for your comment. I'm really glad you liked it. It is definitely a video that needs to be watched in it's entirety and would you believe was all filmed at the same location! It's a pity the image at the end isn't a bit clearer as it is hard to make out the various bits of flotsam & jetsam. Thanks again.
