  • i regret not seeing the movie when it was in theaters. i would of lOVED to see this on the big screen.

  • this is sexually arousing

  • Another amazing opening sequence by Fincher...his movies are always so visually stunning!

  • This movie was fucking awesome! i so was excited to see it!

  • Great movie. Girl is sexy as hell. Definately would have picked her over that old blonde hag.

  • @BigBagsForRent2 If you're talkin about Meryl Streep I strongly agree with ya.

  • @BigBagsForRent2 Yep. What the fuck was Blomkvist thinking?

Although in the books, he has a much stronger, developed relationship with old blonde hag. It would have made sense if they didn't cut all her screen time down to a few exchanges of dialogue. :D

  • hey somebody know which graphic studio do this?

  • @Missbeepage Blur Studios (blur.com)

  • This alone should have made Dragon Tattoo sweep at the Oscars, it doesn't make sense but its awesome

  • I heard this movie was originally titled Planet of the Rapes. All joking aside, I couldn't beat off for weeks after watching this.

  • @Meeeeeech LOL!

Fuck that. I wacked off as soon as I got home from seeing this.

  • loved it. The Bond parallel really worked. But it just didnt fit into the film as a whole. A bit out of touch. Needed a bit for reason for being there.

  • Saw this movie 4 times in theaters...3/20 Blu Ray will see many more viewings.

  • led zeppelin <3 <3 <3

  • My jaw dropped at the cinema.

  • This is intense, and beautiful!

This film was AMAZING! Not nominated for Best Director or Best Picture?? BS!

  • @williammoseleyfan101 I know, aint that a bitch?

  • epic intro

  • Now THIS is how you start a movie!

  • same to me!

  • it is still stunning but u cant compare that to when u watched it in the cinema. i sat there with my mouth dropped open and thought "wow, such a cool song, such cool effects :-O!!!" IT - WAS - AWSOME :D

  • sooo. its like wicked bond opening...

  • The music was amazing! The opening sequence was the perfect mix of a Tool- and a NIN video. My prior comment was in response to a guy who thought they left too many parts out from the book.

  • Music??

  • @sireasme

Immigrant Song- Karon O,Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross

  • You don't come off as a douche. They took liberties yes. But they did good in their stitching the movie together given the time allotted. I feel your pain in that there were parts left out.

  • @MrTigerstyle80 No no, I'm fine with stuff being left out, of course it had to be done that way. I just got the impression that it was impossible to make a good separation, since so much is connected to each other. It looked like it might be confusing

  • Just as the swedish adaptation, the whole movie felt like a quick summary; which it is, but it seems it was impossible to only cut atmospheric intrigue. Key events were left out that you could see slightly incomprehensible bits of in the movie. Could anyone here, that didn't read the book, say that they knew what was going on through the whole movie?

  • @snehesten Actually, me. It wa great, it was quick, like an injection of adrenaline straight to the heart. And the only slowerly paced part of the film (the ending) well... it's a classic to me.

  • @worldsquiethere I'm just battling not trying to sound like one of the douches that "read the book and is therefore superior", but there's just so much that was left out. For example, when he was captured in the basement and Martin starts to talk about the baltic immigrant girls he killed there; didn't you get any kind of "this is out of the blue, did I miss something" reaction?

  • @snehesten That's exactly the only "oh-what?" point of the whole film

But I've seen it in other flicks too (bad guy confession).

Curiosity killed the feline but.... why was this not out of the blue in the book?

  • @worldsquiethere There's a thicker atmosphere of women being victims, and there's more on Lisbeth's anger and her situation. So when there's a guy in the end who likes to kill defenseless immigrant women, it comes as no surprise. But the vibe of the book is cool and relaxed (in contrast to the movie which is "we've got to get to the bottom of this!" from minute one), so it's not preachy or intensely feminist

  • @snehesten well I watched the Swedish version and could follow the movie quite well because of that and there were many similar scenes in the movie which mirrored it, except for the cat (don't remember that in the Swedish adaptation) and some other minor details, but given the time they had to make this one they did a good job! I still prefer Noomi as Lisbeth though, even though the character description fits Rooney more perfectly...probably cos Noomi was hotter and more badass lol

  • Best opening sequence EVER! Can watch again and again. Also excellent film, on a par with original which I did not expect it to be :)

  • Best opening sequence since ZOMBIELAND....

  • I do have to say. This is one of the best openings that I've seen in my life.

  • That was pretty neat.

  • i cant understand that everybody is saying that rooney mara should win but no one remembers noomi rapace preformance....

  • @1998Thor Noomi Rapace's performance was amazing, but, right now, she's not nominated to the oscars. Rooney Mara is also an incredible Lisbeth and that's why we are supporting her for the oscars. Wanting her to win the oscar doesn't diminish Rapace's performance ;)

  • @1998Thor I thought she was the better Lisbeth Salander (and the original one lets not forget) but to her credit, Rooney Mara did justice to the character and played her very well too, she really transformed herself to become Lisbeth so both actresses did a great performance in the respective movies...I still prefer Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth Salander though, also because she is sexier and had more of that 'dont mess with me, you will regret it' look and personality...just ask Bjurman :)

  • Don't know why people were skeptical about the remake...David Fincher was directing it!!! When has the Finch never delivered??!!!

  • Was literally sitting in the front row in the cinema and had my jaw on the floor throughout this clip...quite an experience...mindblowing if watched in a cinema with the sound amped!

  • @MrSupastar83 What idiot sits in the front row, craning their neck skyward to view the screen? Seriously, in the front row you're looking directly up to watch the movie, and left and ride as focus is drawn to either side.

I laugh at people like you, from the middle section. :)

  • @IronRooRoo My sister has incredibly poor eyesight and sits in the first row because she can't see anything on the screen from the middle and beyond, glasses or no glasses. Not everyone who sits close to the screen does it because they favor it.

  • @darkerforest Remember that this is all from the book, not deliberately just put into the movie. The rape scene is exactly the same in the book. One of the aims of the book is to show how bad men's attitude can be towards women. They can't really take it out because it becomes one of the most important plot points in the next two parts of the trilogy. I admit it seems out of place with the rest of the movie, but it does matter.

  • @Joethemonkeyful I agree, and it also serves the purpose of showing the kind of shit Lisbeth's gone through in her life and gives a glimpse into exactly why she is the way she is with people. It's a vital plot point and can't be ignored.

  • At first I was very impressed with this movie.

After a short time thinking about it I hate it-

the rape scene added absolutely nothing to the movie.

Take it out of the movie and what has changed? nothing.

A cheap, cheap trick to shock the audience with zero value.

  • Fincher's opening sequences are spot on....remember the one from Fight Club!

  • this is by far the coolest thing I've ever seen!

  • My jaw broke the floor when I saw it in the cinema! Unbelieveable!!

  • Comment removed

  • does anyone else see this as being a kinda ultimate Bond title sequence? ya know, kinda like we are watching the credits of the darkest Bond movie ever made? cuz that's what I see here, it's a shame we don't see more credit sequences these days.

  • I ALMOST FUCKING DIE, KAREN O IS PERFECTION IN THIS. Wish Reznor and her work together again in the near future.

  • this is so intense when you watch it at the cinema. nearly blew me away :D

  • @joseawas So intense? Go watch A Serbian Film and get back to me, bro.

This is about as intense as every Bond intro ever made, except with less colour. :)

  • @IronRooRoo i meant the music (mainly bass) in the intro, i wasn't speaking about the visual part ;)

  • @joseawas I know. It felt like I was in a club/rave/awesome party; Speakers were booming loud and everything!

  • David Fincher has and always be the master of opening title sequences.

  • Better than Led Zeppelin's original version? Maybe

  • If Rooney Mara doesn't win the Oscar, I kill somebody, I swear. She deserves it all the way.

  • Incredible piece of work

  • The opening titles are actually the complete story of Lisbeth. And it's heart-breaking to know the ending of the film and to see how these titles end (with her returning again to the darkness, while male hands are dragging her back there).

  • This reminds me of Fight Club's intro

  • NAME OF THE MUSIC PLEASE??

  • @pedromigelab

original: Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song

this version is by Karen O. (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross

  • @joseawas that was why it seemed so good and familiar :p Led Zeppelin Immigrant Song ahah Thanks man ;) (bro fist)

  • i hope fincher is going to direct the other 2 as well

  • ahh sex violence technology death just like la film mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • better than any james bond intro !

  • This in the theater was fucking mindblowing.

  • @Hessianoct Jesus christ, wasn't it though?? I'm so glad I had zero prior knowlege of this movie (besides the books), it was mindblowing.

  • I think that Skandinavian version is better. Hoever this opening deserves an oscar! ;)

  • what an excellent movie

  • are they gonna come out with the other ones

  • love it!!!!!

  • fincher ur a god

direct the other 2 aswell dont let someone else take over ur baby

  • Immigrant song by Led Zeppelin! ;)

  • @ownedzik thank you im not the only one

  • Only someone who knows the trilogy (movies or books) can understand this fully.

  • which song is this??? :O

  • David Fincher and Trent Reznor. Best movie collaboration since Scorsese and DeNiro. There I said it.

  • TRENT REZNOR + DAVID FINCHER = GODS

  • Check These Guys Out!

    /watch?v=uuQ26-nQSow&context=C36df019ADOEgsToPDskLh2ZQB2kJvzh-QB7jyuSex

There Epikk, dont let them stop!

  • it's AWESOMEE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)))

  • God i love this!

  • Fincher is God!

  • Oh Karen O!

  • this should be in final destination

  • Everyone who read the books must have gone crazy after watching this. I know I did.

  • I found this version much better than the Swedish movie. And I watched the Swedish movie an year ago, before even reading the books.

  • While I was watching this, expecting this to have nothing to do with the books, after it finished I was like "OH NO THEY DIDN'T! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DID THIS. THIS IS PERFECTION"

  • @tehaguiar the girl who plays lisbeth actually kept her nipple piercing after filming

  • @Jackalofdeath Yes she did! :D

  • Amazing piece of shit.

  • i still think that original Swedish film is much better

  • This move was sooo amazing I fuckn love it!! The opening title sequence was more more moree amazing... It was like an other movie woow!

  • EYEGASM

  • Valhalla I am coming!

  • I hope the intro sequences to the next two films will be like this or just as good :)

  • Omg

  • So beautiful and haunting! This film was outstanding!!! Congrats on the oscar nominations (and they were for all of my favorite categories)

    I can't wait!

  • amazing opening!!

  • is this the newest james bond?

  • I loved seeing this in theaters - just awesome. So, I saw it again! Hope this movie wins the Oscars it was nominated for

  • What's the name of the song at the start of the movie?

  • December 21st, 2011:

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

    February 26th, 2012:

The Girl who won the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role!

Thumbs up for Rooney Mara, she must win :3!

  • @DARKgirafa she wont

  • i heard that the original story was enough to make a twisted movie, but when i heard that david fincher was directing i shit myself. he hasn't made anything this demented since seven

  • was this filmed with a carrot? i could make a better edit with a plastic bag..

  • Nice opening. Probably the only thing I like about this movie.

  • I love this opening title sequence. Though it did about kill my ears. I don't know if my movie theatre was unique, but they had the sound way too loud. Can't wait for the move out on Blu-Ray.

  • who sings this?

  • @someonelikejr

Karen O (of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) on vocals, collaborating with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (remaking the Led Zeppelin classic).

  • @someonelikejr

    Karen O: Immigrant song

  • Theyd better realize they only reason the movie made so much in america is because Fincher was attached and get him back so there can finaly be a GOOD trilogy in hollywood.

  • @tsphilly98 I would agree with you... But your date isn't a 56 year old with a penis, is it?

  • @connorsoldvideos O-O noooo...

  • next you see daniel craig with a suit case....it has no relevance to the movie lol

  • This was so good it almost worked against the rest of the film I wanted it really dark but it wasn't too my suprise great opening tho i wish they gave oscars to openings

  • please david!!!! make the sequels

  • I swear to God when I saw this in the projector seat in IMAX, I fucking ejaculated...

  • Awesome opening sequence, one of the best I've seen in a movie in a long long time. Reminiscent of Bond movies, only more hardcore. The movie was good, too, but I much prefer Noomi... not that Rooney was bad, but Noomi was better. I would have liked to see her paired with Craig, but I'm sure it would have been too much for her to do all the movies over again! Can't wait for the next two!

  • The name's Blomkvist. Mikael Blomkvist.

  • wow

  • good opening for a good movie !

  • I just saw the original Sweedish version for the first time about a month ago and I just got done seeing this remake and I gotta say I prefer the original and think its SO much better than the remake but thats how it goes 99% of the time eh? I think the ONLY remakes that are better than the originals was the first Hills Have Eyes, 1982 The Thing & 1988 Blob anyways I feel Noomi Repace played Lisbeth WAYYYY better than Rooney Mara but the other actors were good though

  • @HackedUp4BBQ013 i think rooney played it wayyyy better though. i am obsessed with this movie i have never bought a book in my life but this movie made me go buy the book. rooney is amazing in it

  • @TheOHHHHHYA alright so I guess we have to agree to disagree lol I prefer Noomi cuz she seemed to have more energy to her character than Rooney plus Noomi is way sexier in my opinion lol anyway thats just how I feel but I thought I was gonna hate this remake cuz as I said I'm not a fan of most of them but this one surprised me everyone else was good but as I said I just feel Noomi was the better Lisbeth, later

  • @HackedUp4BBQ013 this isn't a remake its an adaption of the book. The Thing is a remake

  • @jumpmanajf what? lmao yes it is a remake there are lots of scenes that are almost exact I'm done arguing with people on this shit and I know The 2011 Thing is remake NOT a prequel fuck that movie John Carpenter's The Thing is the best adaptation

  • @HackedUp4BBQ013 UHH yeah the scenes are probaly similar because theyre both out of the same book. no ur not but the John Carpernters the thing is a remake of the original. Its an adaption.and you know u love the arguing otherwise you wouldn't said some incorrect shit like that.

  • Comment removed

  • @HackedUp4BBQ013 Yeah thats a remake. the lords of the rings trilogy isn't a remake of the animated movie. And yeah whatever you say your obviously in the minority, and ur entitled to ur opinion even though its wrong

  • @jumpmanajf lmfao obviously your the one who likes to argue cuz I was mature at the end of my last comment but obviously you have nothing better to do then go on and on and on and no I'm not wrong you just THINK i'am keyword THINK and I THINK you are wrong and I'm in the minority really? yeah I know alot of people liked the America remake I've saw lots of mixed reviews on it so its 50/50 so as I said its fucking pointless to keep going on LATER

  • @HackedUp4BBQ013 haha ur the one whose getting marked as spam ur obviously in the minority have a nice life loser

  • Comment removed

  • @HackedUp4BBQ013 lol ur the troll thats why ur comments are marked as spam tf

  • It wasn't until the movie finally ended that I realized that this opening sequence basically spoils the whole film. You just won't be able to connect the dots until you actually see the movie.

  • @oohgoditsbees did u notice they did that with adventures of tintin and mission impossible 4 and they all came out within a week?

  • @jumpmanajf I haven't seen those movies yet, so can't comment.

  • @oohgoditsbees ull notice them when u see it but could u explain how it plots out the movie im not seeing it

  • @oohgoditsbees but only how it relates to the first movie cuz i haven't read any of the books just seen the first movie

  • lesbian angst music videos

  • This should've been the opening scene of Spider-Man 3!!!!!!

  • OMG goose bumps

  • Comment removed

  • I was at the movies first time i saw this. I smoked couple joints before.

The clip just BLEW MY MIND !!!

  • people say this looks like a James Bond opening sequence. i say it looks like a Nine Inch Nails video, and an amazing one at that!

  • i hope they make the whole triology. if they dont ill cry :'(

  • This movie was just amazing! Daniel and Rooney are perfect <3 I loved them!

  • [This comment deleted by SOPA]

  • This remineds me off deadspace

  • this opening was so fucking epic xD and the rest of the film too :3

  • I wasn't expecting this kind of opening in a David Fincher film. I'm glad I wasn't, because when this came on I was mindblown

  • Really really goood so much! Daniel Craig 3 Rooney Mara 3 i love them in. And i must say that this open song is the best what i've ever seen. Fuckin' perfect for this masterpiece :') 3

  • @ChannelLollipop

you know it's a remake of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song, right? a good remake at that.

  • Seeing this was one of the most orgasmic experiences i've had in a cinema.

  • This was an incredibly awkward movie to see sitting next to my dad.

  • @connorsoldvideos And with a mom even more awkward

  • @connorsoldvideos Try it on a date when you're 14

  • @tsphilly98 well....technically, you aren't exactly allowed to see this movie unsupervised, so.....

  • @babehurst88 Ugh... our parents sat like 10 rows in front

  • @tsphilly98 yeah..you're right. that does suck. one, because it was this movie. two, because your parents were there during your date. Well, it'll make a funny story when you're older.

  • @babehurst88 I certainly hope so :P
