Adam Dunn is the perfect player for looooooser towns who go ga ga when a freak hits a home run occasionally but sucks every other moment. This cocksucker is so suck, he makes his town suck too!!
Adam Dunn reminds me of Dave Kingman(the lefty version)They both hit bombs.I am not a white Sox fan,but I do tune in to see what he does in his at bats.Players like him are good for baseball. He's not the best fielder and not such a great runner but those are attributes he really doesnt need if he is DH and if he is clubbing home runs.He is worth the money as long as he produces.
@1846alexander He can be very entertaining and very frustrating also . Very much belongs in the AL in my opinion . I watched him for yrs on the Reds and he can drive a fan to drink. But I think he fits well where he is at and I hope he thrives there .I have watched alot of ball and noone reminds me of Dunn when he hits one well . The ball just disappears and its 450 ft away before you can blink
while dunn seems to be a slugger, there are more downs than ups. He is a slow runner, a horrible fielder, and the sox signed him for too much. BUT, i still welcome him for U.S. Cellular being a launching pad. Go sox!
@COOPERsPLANET hell ya i was pumped 6 montth ago when i heard that too. went to the cub/sox game tonight at u.s. cellular...as u probably know he's battin like .180 somethin...struck out 2 at bat in a row and he was actually getting boo's on the way back to the dugout. sucks man i like him, but he needs to get outa that funk or all that money's goin to waste.
I like Dunn- I got to meet him after a Reds game once- really nice guy. Unfortunately, the only way he will keep a job is if he keeps producing homeruns. The minute he stops hitting 30,40, or 50 homeruns a season they will cut him.
I love Ryan Howard wins an MVP and gets a huge contract for hitting home runs, but his 180+ strikeouts a year are ignored, while Adam Dunn is derided for his strikeout totals and his home run and RBI totals are never mentioned. If I'm not mistaken, Dunn's OBP is higher too.Go Big Donkey!
If they can have an event where a player is an All-Star just because he's from a certain country like they did a few years back, then I don't see why they can't have a special Home Run Derby with the guys who are generally know to hit the farthest balls- Pujols, Dunn, Hamilton, Wily Mo Pena, etc.
@cacable7 see, the problem is 90 percent of people dont realize that strikeouts dont mean anything if your career obp is 130 points over your average and you knock out 40 hrs a year lol
That argument has it's merits, but I just wonder how many RBI's these strikeout kings would have if they could cut their swings down with 2 strikes and get base hits or sac flies. I love Adam Dunn but got tired of him leaving men on base while swinging his dick off with 2 outs in Cincy.
In my opinion, one of the most underrated players in all of baseball. Year in and year out this guy produces runs. It isn't out of the quest that by the time Adam Dunn retires, he can have upwards of near 700 home runs
Like Dunn or not. You have to agree he is not on juice! He was big from the get go. So in my opinion he would be the biggest homerun hitter ever that was not on the juice!
Damn... everytime he hits a fuckin home run... it is a fucking high one.. like a towering mammoth shot... like a fucking rocket... I mean.. once he hits that Home Run .. it's a no doubter
Adam Dunn, as a hitter, is in no way similar to Dave Kingman. Adam Dunn hits for a somewhat higher BA and gets on base far more. All Kingman could do was hit HRs. A lineup of Adam Dunns would be much better than a lineup of Dave Kingmans.
He is top 5 in HR RBI and leads and Walks. He is top 10 in OBP OPS and 11 in slugging In the NL. I bet you think hitting 40 + HR 5 seasons in a row is pathetic too. Fact is he is one of the greatest power hitters today and gets on base a lot. Btw Ryan Howard strikes out more than Dunn and he won MVP.
yea and hes a clean up hitter. WHY WOULD A TEAM WANT THEIR CLEAN UP HITTER TO WALK?? say theres a runner on first i dont want him walking thts the bottom line. plus he strikes out alot and bats 230, at least howard has shown he can hit over 270 also through each of their first four full seasons howard has a higher ba more hr's rbi's hit's and run's
Adam Dunn sucks. Even though he is one powerful hitter, he strikes out way to much. He has mor career strikeouts than games played, honestly I think thats pathetic.
And Dunn played with what was a mediocre lineup (except for like 2 or 3 seasons) that could barely even get on base for him. Otherwise, his RBI and run scored totals would be higher. Dunn now has Nick Johnson and Ryan Zimmerman hitting ahead of him, which probably gives him more RBI chances than with the Nats.
Nice video! I was at that game in left field. Thats one of the hardest hit home runs I've seen at a game! I was also lucky enough last year to see Jay Bruce hit the walk off against the Atlanta Braves.
Batting average is a stupid stat to use when judging players. That's like saying Robinson Cano (career .303 BA) is better than Adam Dunn (.247 BA). Dunn has a career .381 OBP, while Cano only has a .335 OBP.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This assclown has started 12 games since the trading deadline without a single run scored or a single RBI.
While with the Reds he misplayed a flyball that directly led to 2 runs. So, in the middle of the linup where the run producers are...Dunn is -2 runs in the past 12 games.
@cheeriopisser2 Damn, did Adam Dunn sleep with your mom and kill your dog? Come on bro he's one of the surest things in baseball....380 OBP, 35+ HRs and 100 RBIs guaranteed....
Finally he's gone. He said "he's happy he's going to a 1st place team" We'll Adam if you could hit better than a .233 maybe the reds couldve been in 1st place. It's a team sport and if your team isn't in 1st place your to blame too. guess why? because YOUR part of the team!!!! bye bye Adam DONE I wished it could've come sooner..you can't hit shit....

Outs are outs. It doesn't matter if your strike out or ground out to short. It's still an out. They don't charge you with two outs if you strike out.
Dunn is also a home-run hitting machine. Those are a lot more important than how a player makes outs.
derkommissar1917 2 years ago
Anyway, Dunn is probably the most underrated batter in the majors. Too bad the Sox couldn't get him.

Batting average is a stupid stat to use when judging players. That's like saying Robinson Cano (career .303 BA) is better than Adam Dunn (.247 BA). Dunn has a career .381 OBP, while Cano only has a .335 OBP.
Cano lacks discipline.
EeVvAaNn3 2 years ago
but because of Cano's higher average, he gets more hits, which in the most simplest form, you need in order to score runs.
If I were a baseball player, Id rather hit .300 with 15 homers, 70 rbis, then hit .240 with 40 homers and 110 rbis.
