I have watched all 3 seasons of the Aussie BL. And the more I watch, the more I think the producers have a say in the picking of the contestants (the trainers don't just get to choose whoever they want). Consider the different personality types, and compare them to contestants from previous years. "The Overbearing Asshole", "The Bubbly, Self-Sacrificing Mum With 3+ Kids", "The Man-Hater", "The Homo", etc. It's more about casting properly than who needs it the most.

It's pretty well-known that most reality tv shows have producer influence (Project Runway's Tim Gunn admitted that the producers had a final say on their picks) but on a show like the Biggest Loser can you really say that the people who don't need it are chosen? They all need it really. Sean most definitely needed it. But don't forget, there is a kind of competition amongst the trainers to have a winner so they'll likely want to choose people who they can affect the most and get the best result.

It would have been 150,000 if Michelle took the payout. Aus BL has a 200k prize, and the US one has a 250k prize.
