  • OMG THE WIZARD IS HER DAD...dang momma's been busy. jk i know he used elixir on melena

  • go frex!

  • That's right. Everyone deserves a chance to fly.

  • I love the foreshadowing in this song.....

  • Im auditioning for a musical with this song..after listening to Joel Gray singing it, im freaking out D:

  • @qtheapplause same here!

  • dude... he technically is her father

  • @WiccanBrald Only in the musical, not the book, pretty sure. :)

  • @hannahahuffines It's heavily implied in the book.

  • @meticulator Yeah, I apologize for my seeming ignorance. I was halfway through the book when I saw the musical, and my friend told me that in the book, the Wizard isn't her dad. I definitely think he is now that I've read it myself.

  • @WiccanBrald There's no "technically" about it, he actually IS her father. It's why she was so powerful in the magicks. She was a child of BOTH worlds.

  • This song is so underrated.

  • FORESHADOWING!

  • :....(

  • Bert Newton did it better.

  • He was never married for a reason, Who in the world would want to marry a maniac like him?

  • @KathyCP that's a bit harse

  • I hate it when he sings "everyone deserves the chance to fly"--for me it gives an inspirational song like Defying Gravity a bitter taste, but I guess that's the whole point of it, just like in The Wizard and I

  • @BeccaWei25331 This song took place before "Defying Gravity", and when she said "as someone told me lately", she meant the Wizard said that line to her. She turned his words on him. XD

  • I wish the song were longer. That falsetto note he hits is beautiful.

  • @cleancutamerican init it's amazing :)

  • this song is so fantastic.Even though it is kinda sung by a crazy guy XD.

  • I know 2 people who can relate to this musical. kermit the frog and the jolly green giant

  • am i one of the only ones that relates more to elphaba?

  • *SPOILERS*

how ironic... oz is Elphaba's dad

  • @cbroxs17 that's the point, irony?

  • @cbroxs17 I didn't see it yet!!!!! Thanks for telling us!!! *sarcasm*

  • Elphaba rocks! Sadest thing is we the theatre geeks love it now, but when the movie comes out......EVERYONE is going to be raving on how they liked it before anyone else did! :) I still will love it though !

  • @Sandar99 That is sadly true....

  • he's a sentimental man.

he got the mental part right

  • @ZaraOfFairies

    ohh ohh you..you're clever

  • well thank you...

  • you can't spell sentimental without mental

  • @Kerriangel exactly

  • @ZaraOfFairies your kind!

  • @Arut101 thank you.

  • @ZaraOfFairies I SOOOO agree. What a psycho...

  • Aww Elphie!! Am I the only one who loves Elphaba more? Maybe its because we can relate or maybe green skin, or the outcast girl is cute? haha anyone agree with me?

  • @SarahSilvermanRocks i love her more

  • @SarahSilvermanRocks "or maybe green skin" ? Dude, you need to get yourself checked. JUST KIDDING lol

  • @SarahSilvermanRocks ... The writers made it so that elphaba was the protagonist. I believe just about everyone agrees with you.

  • Im using this as my audition piece for a local theatre company! :)

  • good luck ;o

  • this part is so sad!!!!!!! poor elphaba... this is where it all goes down hill :'( sigh i didn't want to believe the wizard was that kind of man... poor Chistery too!

  • I do agree. Poor Elphie.

  • I absoluteley LOVE the "So Elphaba I'd like to raise you high... coz I think everyone deserves the chance to fllllly!" Ahhh, thanks for putting this on here... my mam has my soundtrack in her car -_-
