Seems to me there is a good possibility this is real. There are subtle analog tape artifacts that suggest it was originally recorded on Umatic. Look at the small analog glitch at :58 and the junk at the very bottom of the screen throughout the video--like in this video recorded on Umatic in 1980...

@ceddcha this has nothing to do with the definition of the video. 1080 is the upload definition, it means that if you originally have the video on tape, you can still get to choose how clear you want the video to be. in this example 1080 is not really 1080, but it s as close as you can get to the original.

The sound is too good for a regular interview from the 80s. Unless they did this interview with the best video camera available at the time (which costs a fortune), the video quality too good to be true, it's as good or even better than the 80's TV shows. The "dip to white" effect between shots was not used by the time, it is a very contemporary effect. The jeans have also a very modern cut and dye, not typical from the 80s. Everything is too well arranged to look like 1980, it's not natural.
